invisible walls outlining objects and "bumping" ships has long been a annoying issue in eve

as a pilot that often uses uncommon tactics i often find my self bouncing off a station or roid that im no were near
example: a long range frig doing 800 m/s is targeted by a short range frig from 30 or 40 km and it moves at 1500 m/s the slower pilot runs for the astroid belt to buy time to break his tank before the distance is closed in a attempt to put rocks in the faster ships path "this is a 50/50 chance as to weather or not it works as half the time im stopped by something thats not there. iv tried it a few times"

what im asking to both make the walls that dont exist better represent the walls and objects we see

also add a hold position button for your ship or a brace for impact button to lessin the rediculous "bumping" effects
or simply make the the ships actually collide "off center" and spin rather then repel and simply explain the lack of damage on lil light effect much like a revers tractor beam on every ship they will bump a little bit but will only move a few meters

its a simple math problem when ships no longer have the aglity to avoid impact said light effect kicks in and forces there collision to happen off center and reduces there impact hence no crazy bump and no dead stop "pluss more nifty lights"

"i thought of this on my lunch at work im sure i could make it more detailed if need be"
