Is EVE to complicated and time consuming for me?

Eve is like an expensive restaurant in this respect... If you have to ask how much it costs (time in this case), you can't afford it.

I cant begin to tell you how it feels like you are the one in the wrong game. But its your time and money of course.




To the original poster: I started in 2007, played for about a month and lost a mammoth. Totally pissed me off unubbed.

Came back in 2009 and havent looked back.

The newb experience I can relate to was a great cinematic solo experience...When I started I just played by myself I didn't even know what chat windows were for so I just minimized them :))

I could actually enter Jita without cringing. That was a long time ago. A very brief pvp experience happened about 13 months into playing and it was only then I realized the size and diverse nature of the community.

Since then Ive met literally hundreds of people around the world who I happen to know, again by experience, that if I dropped by in rl they would be honestly pleased to see me and it would be as if no time had passed. We gatecamped together, had hilarious roams, built and tore down POSs and generally just talked and hung out for years.

NOW, I haven't played much for the last um...6 years :P

Just work reasons mostly but to be honest I have found that if I am going to play eve at all, it has to be in a capacity that I can really get in the game...meaning hours every single day....I just don't have the life for it anymore. So I play like half assed and part time...

Doesnt mean I ever unsubbed my toons ;) I just keep paying annually and skilling...maybe one day I can get back 'in it'. I do have them in corps that are kind to me and allow me casual logins and I'm thankful for that. EVE is more about the people for me.

That's my eve. Weird I know.

As far as the new player experience in EVE tho, as many bitter vets will tell you they wish they could unlearn all they know and return to that simpler yet fascinating time...

...of course they would only want the button to push to make that happen...like as an option. Not really do it.

However Regardless if I Leave and Dont belong Here in the Eve Community. It Dosnt change the fact that new players will Leave as well because its complicated and to Time consuming. I think One of your guys Ganked one of my Mining Barges back in the day I got a bomb with Nulli Secunda on It Lol

Evidently we expect that not everyone will be drawn to the kind of game that EVE reveals itself to be.

But that's also not to say that we don't still get new players.
It takes a particular approach to like the game, and it's not for everyone. We all acknowledge that, and, there's not much we can do for it without completely changing the game we love.

Pretty much, if it changes drastically to suit a player base such as those that don't find the current game interesting, most likely the majority of the playerbase will become disinterested.

I Understand if thats what This Eve community wants you cant Force Players against there will to change. And I think Ive Finally found My Niche in this game anyway Just waiting to train up my Hounds COVOPS To drop bombs On Gate Camps.(I still wish it didnt take a year to train to 5) And maybe get some New and Old Stealth pilots just to have fun and if they live close we can Have some beers at a PUb I try To keep it simple.If i do waste time it a least better be Fun. Big smile

No. It is what you make it. Do you know how many frigates you can explode in for basically nothing in FW?

I'm short on time and I'm having a blast in FW and Bombers Bar when I can.
