Total Job Cost Confusion

Hello eve industry people. Can any industry experts shed some light on what the tool tip is saying when you mouse over the total job cost when doing a manufacturing job?

If I make 1 unit of Damage Control II at a POS, I can mouse over the icon to the left of the blueprint and it tells me that the total estimated price of the materials used is 194,050.42

If you right mouse click and "copy material information" then you can see that the total estimated price is the sum of (required * estimated unit price) for each material used.

So far so good.

The total job cost is quoted as being 5,171

When I mouse over this it says Base Item Cost 121,990 and System Cost Index 4.24%

So how do I get from total estimated price of 194,050.42 to Base Item Cost of 121,050.42 ?

Thanks

The job cost is not calculated by using the estimated price, that is just used, well, to estimate the material prices.
For the job cost itself, the adjusted price is used, which is available via CREST. This is a fixed number that CCP somehow calculates, in order to prevent market manipulations to directly affect manufacturing.
Estimated and adjusted prices are two completely different things.

CCP has told us how it is calculated, however I'm uncertain if all the data is available:

The formula to calculate Install Job Price is :

(Sum of Adjusted prices of mat * Sum of Number of mat required) * System Cost Index * Facility Taxes

I hope this helps you clarify :)
