Wrecks made by other players.

Otherwise identical to the white ones.

If you loot someone else's wreck you will be flagged as a suspect, for better or worse.

Edit: completely forgot that the safety button was a thing. Ty Kane.

They are not restricted.

If your safety setting is on green the game wil not allow you to take from it.

Yellow mean the wrecks belong to somebody else. That means in order to take from them your safety needs to be on yellow which in turn mean you can now steal from those wrecks.

In doing so you become suspect and anybody in the game can shoot at you without concord killing them for 15 minutes.

White wreck = it belongs to you and/or your corp.

Yellow wreck = it belongs to another player not in your corp or fleet, safety needs to be set to yellow to override the restricted access. This will (as stated above) give you a suspect flag for 15 minutes which makes you a legit target anywhere.

Blue wreck = the wreck has been abandoned by the owner (they right-click on the wreck and select "abandon wreck" or "abandon all nearby wrecks") and they are free to anyone to loot.

It should be noted, you can still salvage yellow wrecks freely. Just not loot them.

.. and do not shoot them.

Even a blue wreck will get you concorded if you shoot it.

Blue wrecks are also created by shooting rats while you have a criminal timer, at least in low sec. (I doubt anyone would bother shooting rats while concord is chasing them in high sec.)

Right, and technically in highsec, too, not that anyone would actually have the time...

And speaking of, a pilot who goes criminal or enters highsec as a criminal will leave a blue wreck when they get CONCORDOKKENED

It sometimes happens in highsec, when smartbombs are used to gank in asteroid belts.

I remember someone in my alliance that was trying to get their sec status to 'true negative 10' (i.e. shows as -10 in their API) accidentally killed a rat that way, and undid the work of literally dozens of illegal podkills.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

White - yours
Blue - free for all
Yellow - not yours to take

You can change your safty settings and loot from yellow. but if you do you will be become a criminal and ppl can shoot you...
better wait untill you know some more about the game.

Looting a yellow wreck/cargo container doesn't create a criminal flag (which would cause CONCORDOKKEN in highsec) but it does create a suspect flag.

Yellow safety settings won't allow someone to take a criminal act.

Suspect, you become suspect. Getting criminal timer requires you to shoot the wreck or a non-suspect/non-criminal player in hisec and pods in lowsec.

Keep in mind you can open a yellow wreck, and see what is in there without getting a suspect flag. As a newbie it might be worth taking a look. If you do get flagged as suspect just warp to a customs office or the like and make a safe spot then warp to it.

PS- If you are in a system for a while you should always make a safe spot.

Get as close to the can as possible> stop ship> open can> initiate warp> hit loot all button just before you get to 75% of max speed.

It's a bit tricky especially if your ship aligns quickly but very hard to catch someone if they do it right even if you already have a lock on them.

*Open can must be done before initiating warp as it can't be done after.
