In my opinion, you're better off looking for a wormhole with a lowsec/highsec exit than trying to gate hop it all the way in - null entry systems are often camped to catch people like you.

The best ship to use is one with a scout. CovOps cloakers can be decloaked by competent 'ceptor pilots if they jump into a bubble and fast-align 'ceptors can be smartbombed. Neither of these is an issue if you know where the camps are and avoid them.

The wormhole idea, while taking more time and skill, is also a solid piece of advice, especially if accompanied with a scout.


And lastly...you'd better hope that this isn't the character you plan to run the epic arc on. You just broadcasted that you'll be mission fit and/or transit fit in nullsec while carrying expensive cargo. I imagine folks are queuing the locator agents right about...now....

In fact, I would prefer to use those 3 weeks to train 15+ different skills instead of the ones required for Covert Ops Ship but I fear that the longer cloaking delay on the Astero may decrease my chances of reaching high-sec safely. I intend to use the ship afterward for exploration and avoid combat as much as possible.

Safety wise, is there any other difference then cloaking delay to take in consideration for my choice?

What would you advise?
