The nature of awoxing is as such that they will always find a way to awox they as pilots are adept at finding weaknesses in the system

and this is normally people.

for example, I run a corp and I tried to put in every guard I could find, From the careful control of roles, limiting of access to resources ect ect..

basically all financial decisions had to pass by me and this was told to every member of the corp apon their joining.

well one day a loan was asked by a trustworthy if a little bit naïve source too borrow enough isk to purchase a Obelisk to the tune of 1.3 bill, this was extended to him.

Now the awoxer in question simply wielded his director position to momentarily "borrow " said Obe via a polite request saying that it was needed for corp operations and persisted coercing when I was not on, indicating tha time was of the essence...quite brilliant

Feeling obligated due to the loan from me the Obe pilot lent his obe to Awoxer who then sold it and then griefed one of the other directors making it clear he had gotten what he had come for.

he left my corp with the tune of about 3 bill as more isk had been extended to him before hand and it nearly destroyed the fledgling corp...this was embarrassing but I learned a great deal from this awoxer as to their more recent tactics

I bear him no ill will for this simple reason

"he even told me he was going to do it"

of course this had been a running joke for a couple of weeks beforehand and so my guard relaxed

he very nearly had me convinced that his actions were for the best of the corp...yet could not wait until the loan was repaid before doing so and so his permanent ban was set in place

awoxing is not dead it has simply evolved into a game of patience and vocal persuasion

I love this game Blink

Interesting story.

Despite that, I still object to the proposed awox change because I have an intense dislike of any change that takes the personal responsibility for safety away from the player. This breeds a lazy attitude amongst those under the system which is inherently detrimental to a player's growth.

Furthermore, in my opinion, high sec slave corps are far more damaging to player retention than awoxing. Plenty of people don't realize they are in a ****** situation until someone comes along and shakes things up with a liberal application of antimatter.

Again, in my opinion, this change will increase the number of ****** corps but won't actually improve subscription levels, before you even consider possible sub drops from those who have had their opportunities for emergent gameplay reduced (again).

Definitely thier will be some issues but the group that I am putting in place makes a point of communicating directly to the members of said high sec corps and asking how they are treated, their rates of return ect

I am making the move to countering the very thing you fear as I have been told many stories (I will admit some of them have a fairly good deal yet want to moan about it anyway) regarding the maltreatment of corp mates based on age, gender, race, ect

That was one of the issues that provoked my proactive and this thread

I personally will be embarking on a grand quest of awoxing. Which will continue even after the february release.

Good story and all... But awoxing and corp theft aren't really the same thing.

Still, kudos to you for learning from the loss and not posting another whine thread to get lost in the stack.

Gonna try hand at trial account reverse safaris. Make ton of trials and join them to an alts SUPER BEAR PVE INDUSTRY MISSION CORP OF AWESOME.
Even when trials expire it will still show the corp pop as decent. Then mass spam corp invites using ccps new handy easy to invite random bros tool.
SET GREEN ON GREEN TOGGLE TO GREEN (or red whatever the "touching allowed" position)

Yes people eventually look at kb and will get burnt... BUT PEOPLE STILL STILL STILL ARE STILL GETTING GOONSWARM SCAMED. Pretty sure the reverse safari corp can last a decent amount of time.

Why bother?
You expect people to go through the motions of toggling the anti-awox switch to ON?
People who can't be bothered to scout?
People who can't be bothered to fit ships properly?
People who can't be bothered to be at their keyboard when playing?
People who can't be bothered to do basic research?
People who can't be bothered to talk to other people?

Not going to happen, bears will be bears and awox induced tears will keep streaming.
^^ This is a Nostradamous-like prediction and it will be true.

So its confirmed that corp mates are not going to be able to shoot each other after February?

Or is there going to be a 'corp safety' switch or something?

When the hell did this happen?

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

A Corp safety switch.

So basically, groups like RvB won't be impacted. Other corpsman choose. As for awoxing... Either find corps that have safety off, scam your way to director, turn on, awox, or use alts to gank with your incorp character providing intel.

There is a terrible weapon out there in the hands of glorious content creators, one that you may have heard of, but for the most part has been kept secret...

What is beautiful about this weapon, is that even though it only works on the weak-minded, it is however invulnerable to nerfs or bear-bubble-wrapping by CCP.

Now some call this weapon 'social-engineering hacking'. We call it...

The Jedi Mind Trick.

The good news is that you don't have to be born with midichlorians to use it. No friends, you just need shelve any BS notions of space-bushido, and like Yoda always said.."do or do not, there is no try.."

Hmmm.

Ok, so the idiots will not even know there is a 'corp safety switch'. Looks like business as usual then.

I would be more happy if turning off the awox ability came with some other drawback.... like having to pay a fixed amount of isk every week based on the number of people in your corp, in order to have the protection from concord, as sort of a taxation thing. Id say 10 mil a week, with an additional 1 mill for every corp member, would suffice.

There should really be a balance of risk and reward here. It shouldnt just be "Turn button on and no more awox, anytime anywhere" anymore than there should be "press key to escape any fight unharmed".

Yeah, I agree, but just be glad CCP decided to make it so the default setting is Friendly Fire On.

Expect to keep seeing Idiot CEOs posting here in C&P about Horrible Awoxing Pilots......and none of ya had better tell em about the corp safety settings!!!
