Out of Pod Experience

It actually is a reference of movement of astronomical proportions in relation to a defined point.
You can therefore have different times depending on what is that other reference point or observer.

There are a lot of factors involved in relation to this.

I read yesterday that it would take the Voyager satellite (which number I forgot now) 17,000 years to reach one light year.
That is at around 0.006 % of the speed of light. I hope that it is not the fastest satellite ever yet.

I still don't believe that birth is going back in time, although there are genetic relations to this as well.


The perception of time can be directly related to what it means to us.
The better our perception or the worst it is affects what it means to us.
The better we perceive it, the better we can interact with it, within it, and so on. To be more in control of what we do or can do.
It becomes easier to deal with its limits within its limits.

The same goes for many other things in life. We only each have a small amount of time to live and we have to make use of others work time to improve our work efficiency and results.

Time is related to black hole, speed of light and also mass, gravity and Energy.
It would take energy to reach another solar system. Or other planets, celestial bodies, or asteroids.
It is how we handle this time that will let us control the energies better.
That is the energy we will need or which we will be able to use to achieve this goal.

To think of it as a line going forward, some kind of continuous flow, is a fallacy. In one way, it does flow one way, like water from a tap. But in another way, it's more like it's all existing simultaneously. Sort of like different areas on a tabletop.

It happens that one can move from one area of the table to another. Not as in an popping out of an H.G. Wells time machine and walking around. But as in having one's consciousness, senses, and experiences located in another region of the table. (One is temporarily, for all intents and purposes, "existing" in another point in the "past" or "future." Bad terms-- better to say maybe, "points in the field of time").

Our ancestors around the world understood this concept. Well, they didn't understand it, they just lived it. (According to innocent autism spectrum 13-year-old Naoki Higashida in The Reason I Jump, modern autistic guys do the same). But eventually, brilliant people such as Newton and Descarte began trying to understand the time, matter, and everything else in quantified terms. It''s taken awhile for the mathematical and physics understanding to catch up. But I'd guess that current theory views time more as a field than a linear continuum. You guys who know, let give us the facts.

I like the tabletop idea, if nothing else, as a thought experiment. It's an interesting concept which actually works with the concept of 'all we have is now'... which would be more accurate as 'all we percieve is now', but none-the-less, interesting...hmm.

The book looks like an interesting read, too, thanks. Will have to make time to read it.
