Simple Launcher Request

I had what I believe to be a quite simple idea to improve the launcher's input mechanics:

Don't clear the password field when an account is selected from the dropdown.

Say what you will about having the same password for each account, clearly that is indeed a personal security risk - but this change wouldn't alter the security level of the application in the slightest, and would provide a quick way to log in multiple accounts without typing as much. Thoughts?

Your slight inconvenience is not their problem. People having their accounts broken into is their problem.

So your idea? Not going to happen.

Please explain why this would present a security risk any more than the current launcher mechanics do.

It could at least have a "save password" check box.

As someone who runs multiple accounts I totally get where you're coming from.

Get a gaming keyboard and enter your password into one of the expanded memory keys.

Think shared computer environment.

Or a password manager. Henceforth: Useless feature.

*hijacks the idea for something useful*

Can we instead have a button to abort the launch of a client instance? It happens to me every now and then that I start the same character twice although I want to log in another char. I'd be super happy if I could abort that start-up and not lose connection on the that first character.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

I'm not talking about the password persisting after the launcher has been closed, only when switching between accounts. If you close the launcher window, the password field would be cleared - just as it is now.

You're suggestion is not consistent with the way CCP have implemented logging. If they had done it properly, there wouldn't be a need to go through the password screen at all.

But they didn't, they just threw together a quick relog method which simply shuts down the client and then relaunches it. So there is no difference between logging and exiting followed by manual relaunching.
