Actually, there no such thing as a vegan. I learned this when I heard about follicle mites.

Follicle mites are tiny insects that live in hair follicles. There is even one species that lives in human eyelashes, and nowhere else on earth.

The point? Tiny insects live EVERYWHERE, including on the leaves of vegetables. When you eat vegetables, you are also eating hundreds of animals.

You might say these don't count because they are small, or insects. If you say that, what you are saying is all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

We didn't come down from the trees so we can dig for carrots. We came down so we can kill that saber-toothed-mother****** that made us climb it every night and after we killed it we ate it's brains and sucked on his juicy bones.

It was all that juicy marrow that finally led to you being able to sit in a comfy chair in the warmth of your home, playing internet spaceships and debate the morality of killing pigs for food.

Eat more cow and have less methane 8D

Besides, plants are living things too. It's silly to think that one living thing is better to eat than another. We all have to absorb energy from other living things in order to survive.

It's as though the vegans just haven't noticed.

I am a vegan, and I just thought I'd tell you that I won't be coming to this channel and that this thread was a horrible idea. You realise carnists have a little alarm that goes off whenever someone says 'vegan' alerting them all to come and say 'bacon' (because it's obviously always hilarious all the time) and say things like 'top of the food chain' and all the usual things we find ourselves in endless arguments about? That's what you just started.

Fair enough, no one said vegans "HAVE" to come, just ones that wanted to. How would you have broached the topic? Since you seem to be implying that just using the word "Vegan" is enough to set people off. I fully expected to see a parade if ignorance, so it really does not bug me in the least.

Being Vegan or Vegetarian are lifestyle choices for the most part, choices that are chosen by around 15% of the world population. The rest of us eat meat as well as vegetables.
