Suspend account?

I have canceled my main account (Ishtanchuk Fazmarai, will be effective January 14) but this one still has got time until next may. i don't feel like wasting all that money/time so I've been looking for an option to suspend an account and keep the remaining time ready in case you're back, which most MMORPG have and EVE used to have IIRC.

Can someone clarify wether it is possible to suspend this account at notice without canceling and so hold the remaining 4 months for whenever i'm back?

You cannot suspend an account, your "time" will continue running until it runs-out.

submit a petition

generally I would say you're out of luck, I honestly can't think of a game that would do this.
I'm not even sure the newspaper does that

I've petitioned this, and CCP will tell you the same. This is why I stopped paying for a year in advance long ago. That way when things like :18 months: or Incarna happens, I can quit and come back without paying for what I am not using.

This. Install Evemon if you haven't already, construct some really ambitious training plan with lots of skills that will train for a month, and update your queue as needed. Four months can get you some really awesome skills.

I am already doing Battleship V, 14 days left.

It's pretty annoying to think of it, now i will be forced to either waste most of 80 euros or keep leveling up some characters i am not interested at... dammit. Evil

And the worst part, all this time I will be paying for some bloody nullsec features i will never use while the stuff i am interested into can't even get a CCP to answer to a bloody thread.

Have you considered a petition to accounts / billing? Whilst the forum can offer their opinions those of us that lurk here don't have access to the back end systems or policies that CCP applies. They can answer those gnarly questions.

I've not seen a game that would do this and, despite requesting it from Funcom once due to RL circumstances, was politely told to sod off, they had my money and would not let go of it and tough luck for me.

And on your latest post, I'm guessing that means you've not grown the balls to actually stand as a candidate and make a change. You're staying for the last four months as a bleating sheep? Okay. Your choice. But change won't happen unless you participate and make it happen you know ...

Yes, a petition is the only way to know for sure.

I will point out that if CCP refuses or simply doesn't have a mechanism in place to do so I really can't blame them.

The discount that you get for a long term subscription is in return for your long term commitment. Asking for an exception is simply asking for the discount without honoring your commitment... although I fully realize that was not truly your intent.

The chance they will allow you to suspend an account to be resumed later are practically zero.

What you CAN do however is this : train a fresh character you don't plan on keeping, sell it, buy PLEX, reverse-redeem.
Not quite likely to bring you back the full value for use later (most likely you lose at least 2 months' worth of value), but still, you never know.

I am not asking for a reimbursement, just a delay in using the service I paid for. I may not even use it so they may get the money and give no service...

And i recall that 3 years ago that was something they allowed.

uhm... make a petition? why?
How is this not blatantly obvious?

You pay 14,95€/$ for each month of access to the game. Which means roughly 0,000346€/$ for each minute.
Are you trying to tell me that Any company(gaming, newspaper, TV...whatever) would survive charging this way?
I mean, it would take you less than a minute to log in, reset the skill training and then log out for the next 23 days.

Ah yes... solution. Charge more for each minute of used gametime? Cause that would be extremely useful for the people actually playing the game. :p

You recall incorrectly.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I've petitioned it, and because unused prepaid game time is not "bankable" for later use, I changed how I pay, and for how long, to prevent exactly the situation you are in now. You receive a discount when paying in advance with the condition it is not refundable or "bankable".

By all means petition it, just be prepared for the answer.

Funny. What's that come to, ten bucks? I know someone who spent $5 in gas to save 50 cents on a purchase. The kicker was paying for a year in advance...a year...then changing your mind.

Could you please fund my buyer's remourse? I know I can get a good toothpick for the change.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

No worries. As long as you remember; if you are unwilling to do anything to fix the problem you lose any credibility when bitching about it.

I am glad you are leaving EVE, because I do not think the game as it stands is for you. But I honestly hope you find a game that suits your play-style and the things you desire more.
