If anyone's read the new devblog, they can't help but have noticed there's a new and sexually vertical T3 destroyer in the works.

I have just one concern: its defence mode bonuses provide 33.3% resistance bonuses to both armour and shields, whilst also reducing the MWD sig radius penalty by 66.6%. Already being (according to the blog) the fastest of the T3 destroyers, does it not seem a little ridiculous to allow it to dualtank at MWD speeds whilst only being 33.3% "bigger" than normal? You decide.

Either way its no better than the Amarr one which has the signature reduction before MWD which means with Halo's its sig is 30... (Ya know less then an interceptor?!)

I don't see this one being OP or at least more OP than the Amarr one

Dual tank bonus is like saying shitfitting dual tank any other ship actually works, lets forget that the 4 slots in the mid/low. So armor tanking would probably be short range autos with a scram/web/MWD + utility in the mid or shield tank would probably be ganking gyros + tracking enhancers for standard fits....unless you are crazy to fit for bait and dual fit a buffer in PVP that would make people lulz. Can't see shield being any useful for bait, sense you have to point something and when using armor its only adding a few hundred shield you have to knock down....Confessor has more natural shield hitpoints but more lows for a bigger natural tank anyway.

Can see a dual tank useful semi utility scout with that probe launcher though. Extra buffer, but nothing it can't scan out when not being shot out it can't run out with the micro MWD bonus before it warps out assuming it was a bubble Roll. But I don't see the new Svipul as being game breaking, its almost like the Rupture in fitting.

well. dual tank breacher actually works quite well.


i would be curious to see if it would be possible slapping 1 or 2 MASB and a SAAR on this lol, 4 mids 4 lows is an excellent layout

I don't think the dual armor and shield bonuses are intended to be used at the same time, but rather to play to Minmatar ships' natural flexibility in tanking.

I do predict some comedy dual-tank losses soon after release though....

The ship gives a bonus to both armor and shield tank. That means we HAVE to use both. At least. Hull rigs for triple tank!


With only 4 slots for an armor tank or 2 slots for a shield tank it really isn't tanky anyway. So in the end all you get is a glorified arty thrasher with too many midslots.

You are underestimating matar t2 resists and speed/sig tanking. Plug the kinetic hole and youre golden for shield tanking. Vagabonds manage fine with 2 mid tank. This will prob be similar with a much smaller sig. As long as its got grid for arty, it should be pretty potent. Especially with buffed arty.

I would like to see falloff plus optimal bonus, so acs are viable to use in sniper mode as well.

This. Same applies to T2 Amarr Armor tanks: plug the Thermal hole and you have a solid tank with very few slots.

Pith C-type med SBs currently go for ~40mil. Add a point, a mwd and a cap booster, fit arties and an exp. probe launcher, and you really got something :D

Dual tanking is not a bad choice for ships running an ancillary shield booster. There are some things in EVE that hold true 9 out of 10 times but hold exceptions that most players ignore. The ancil repairer works to keep you alive long enough for your ancil booster to reload. This works with other ships besides the Breacher too.

Another example would be fitting tank and rep at the same time. Generally a big no-no, but in some situations the EHP gained from an ancil will outweigh the EHP gains you'd receive from a resist module instead.
