For those discussing the crew compliments on the ships we fly in New Eden, I gladly point out this article as reference.

Thanks! Although I gotta imagine that it must get a little creepy inside a Dominix with only 100 crewmen. Talk about long, empty cooridors! Still, I'd rather have 100 bodies along than none.

What would you guys think of something like that? Would you be interested in buying some form of media completely devoted to technical backstory in EVE? Stuff like technical readouts, drawings, histories of hulls and their variants, that kind of thing?

Just wondering! Big smile

Either of those suggestions works for me, though I would definitely pay for a hard backed version.
Things of interest;

- Deck layouts
- Engine rooms
- power core and capacitor ( we don't seem to fuel standard ships, an explanation on why would be nice )
- How ammo is fed and loaded from the cargo to weapons
- sensors and instantaneous detection
- Mining lasers and the technical side of things
- How pods get into ships, and how ships are changed to facilitate a capsuleer
- manufacturing in eve, everything from ammo to titans

Hope this gives you some ideas.

I'd also like to see some other things:

-Crew quarters.
-'Typical' bridge layouts favored by the races.
-Amenities considered standard based on race (IE Amarr on-ship chapels).
-How hardpoints are able to accommodate vastly different weapon systems.

Heh, I also gave some thought to that for TGFB...

On traveling as a pod in the hold of a capsule ship:

On getting into a pod:

I'm not sure whether I wrote something about decanting. But that was adressed by one of Incarna's teasers.

I'd buy it, sniff it and rub my face into it daily, i would hold it in my arms and caress it as I go to sleep.
Then I'd buy a second one so that I can lay it on the other pillow and whisper to it all the lovely-kinky things in the world.

Absolutely! I'll be among the first in line for this. I think it's great to have content such as this available for purchase that allows us to delve deeper into the details of New Eden. I like what was done with Eve Source as well, allowing for a digital copy to be available on the Kindle store.

Well I hope this positive response somehow makes things move in the right direction for us to enjoy new material about EVE universe.

Well, thankfully your EVE isn't reality. There are crews... and I imagine yours is quite mutinous, considering that you pretend they don't exist.

Since EVE isn't reality anywhere, my EVE is just as real as your EVE.

The humans who would have made up my ships' crews are thankful they live in my EVE where they don't die on a regular basis.

The crews die on a regular basis is because the game mechanics only have the pod pilot in his/her bath of goo escape. IF Eve was merged Star Wars IRL - a nice thought for the coming millennia - the ships will have multiple escape capsules life boats, for ship evacuations, and there would be no need for a pilot in a bath of goo. We'd have academies for training ships officers, and crew, just like here on Earth..

This is just an idea that I'd suggested to CCP t0rfifrans a while back that we'd been talking about, as he's also a massive nerd when it comes to this kind of thing Big smile

Good to see an initial positive reaction, although it'd need way more planning and investgation Smile

As I said in my first post. Have a presenter throw out the idea to the audience at the fanfest this year, and get more player feedback before CCP does anything.

ya know, when the topic came up of "give us gratuitous graphics in the form of hookers, tesselation, and HD texture packs, and kick the windows 98' users out", the reaction was alot more positive, does this mean that development direction is still on the table? (please say yes)

Crews have their escape pods, there is a crew survival percentage for every class, a little low for my taste, but EVE is a dangerous place for the people looking to live among the stars.

We as commanders of our ships can have effect here, we can give te order to evcuate ship whenever we want, that way we can save the lives of our crew.

Yeah I'd buy it. I'd get a lot of use out of it.

Would of course prefer to see interiors actually impletented but yeah, I'd still buy it.

Yes, but I would pay just as much for a high resolution digital collection of images. Maybe it's an old lifestyle remnant from my military days and packing light / moving light... but I dislike physical things due to the "stuff" clutter. I used to have a severe anime artbook problem, and I still have the collection to prove it. You could say I still "have" that anime problem, technically.

Bundle the digital copy with bonus in-game goodies and you have a winner.

If you make the images 300 PPI, I can take them to Kinko's and have them print it on a vinyl banner 36" x whatever. It's not even expensive, and they make awesome posters.
