How to make it big with 2 people?

Hello everyone. Like the subject says, i am trying to make it big in EVE with another friend who's completely new (I've been on and off since 2007).

Would like to get some suggestions or ideas on what both of us can do without joining a big corp. Not so keen on the combat part (mission or pvp) as we probably dont have enough leet skillz. Is it possible to build a POS with only 2 players? the better question is, is it worth it (isk/time wise of course). Anything that doesnt take too long to train up for would be nice :)

Thanks

"instant gratification" and "EVE" are mutually exclusive.

You *can* do stuff with only two people, but you will find it "hard" to do that stuff -- especially if that stuff is the more involved things (e.g. a POS).

Missions would probably be your best bet for "semi fun activities" (personally I hate the grind, and only mission for a goal ... like 0% taxes on yet another station in the Federation). you *could* mine, but it's primarily done by bots so there's no real ISK to be made.

Manufacturing is a good place to be -- but takes a fair bit of up-front ISK.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Hello Edzio Antollare,

Even with only two people you can make it to the top news! An example can be here.

The best advice I can give is that you take your time to look around in EVE, have some fun and then come up with a nice idea and pull it through then. EVE is so big, there are so many possibilities!

Plenty of fun ways to make money. A lot of numbers-minded people like the trading/manufacturing/industry sector of the game.

Ninjasalvaging is a great way to earn money, especially newer players, though will not earn you quite as much as (efficient) running of level 4 missions unless you get lucky and loot as well.

Other than that, I rather enjoy exploration. In hisec it's decidedly 'meh' compared to grinding level 4s, but in lowsec and 0.0 it can be very profitable.

Other things you could consider are wormhole space. Ultimately you're still shooting at NPCs, but you're off in the deep nowhere shooting at intelligent NPCs while simultaneously having to avoid player ganks (though the rewards more than make up for it - definitely more than level 4s).

Incursions are another option, though they certainly require more than two people.

I would emphasize that the above are exclusively income sources...and very few people would consider making a lot of money 'making it big' in EVE. These are generally a means to an end unless you really enjoy them.

One thing to keep in mind is that while you and your friend do not have to absorb yourself in a larger corp, you will certainly have to interact with other players, whether by using services they offer, diplomacy, or just shooting at them. EVE is pretty much entirely about player interaction.

C1, C2, and even C3 wormholes (if you have a good ship/fit) can be soloed without much difficulty. Hell, I know a guy who was soloing some sites in a caracal.

The difficulty with wormhole space si not the barrier to entry, it's the logistics (Always fit a probe launcher...) and the thread of surprise ganks.

Most exploration sites won't be too much of an issue with 2 folks either, you can spider tank and use remote support modules instead of local. The options do expand significantly when you go from solo to duo and beyond :)

Um...great example? :/

Might as well suggest they go to Jita local and advertise their magical, instant ISK doubling powers.

No one else commented on the title "how to make it big with 2 people"?

If double your isk scams were newsworthy, cool and profitable he probably would have. This is EVE and "shady" playstyles are perfectly valid
