I think it would be really cool to play Capture the Flag in Wormholes.
Idea:
Each group has a specific can/structure with some item in it (the 'flag'), in some wormhole somewhere (the 'base').
The objective is to find the opponents' wormhole, find their flag, take it, and get it back to your base. If the flag carrier is destroyed (and the flag dies), a new flag would be placed (by the destroyers) in a can next to the wreck.
You would have some kind of 'no puppyguarding' rules (for example, no more than 5 affiliated ships in the wormhole with your flag in it, provided the flag is in a can and not on a ship), but otherwise scanning down & exploding opposing searchers would be totally kosher. The winner is, of course, the first team to get the opposing flag back to base and in their specified can.

Thoughts?

Straight

Wouldn't it be more fun if the teams just tried to murder each other instead?

Worst. Idea. Ever.

I'd still put a bet on EveBet for it though..

Sounds like an interesting idea for an alliance tourny. But no for getting two people to agree to a game with rules in eve. I dont even trust my corpses or corpmates let alone a competing corp

I remember a Bear singing a tale of when the Higher Class wormhole corps used to play King of the Hill or something, and the corp to hold the sun or whatever the location was for the longest was the winner. I don't remember many details, but it certainly sounded interesting.

The main issue is the logistics of it all. First you have to find a system, then you need to advertise the system whose connections may already be EOL, then you need to wait for corps to form up and to show up at the actual system and so on. I'm not saying it's a poor concept, in K-Space between two sporting rivals it might be a very fun activity. But Wormholes are simply too dynamic and unpredictable to be able to set up a large scale event of this type.

use beting system to make mony off it
and 2 pos 1 system
also use magnatar for more explosions!!!

still bad idea but id do it just for *****&gigles

The only major drawback is the crazed notion that the inventory would look so much better if merely rearranged ONE MORE TIME.

If Bob blesses me with a connection with a good and angry/hostile/shooty neighbor I'd much rather become explodey all the things friends with them then play some half-asses weird game.

one of my old corps used to play CTF with t1 frigs and a few cans. wed anchor a can at one spot, drop a small freight container at another, and have 2 teams, one offense one defense.

We eventually had to ban cloaks, as some guys would get close to the goal, cloak, and wait until the defense was bored, and slowboat in to drop the flag.
