Quick question if anybody can answer please.

Say im making a perfect super pilot, when it comes to drone skills, are fighters and bombers at V the only relevant skills needed or do all the drone support skills apply to fighters/bombers too?
I cant see anything in the skill descriptions specifically excluding fighters/bombers from the attributes, nor can i find anything to confirm they do apply either.

Anyone know for certain?

Thanks

Drone support skills are not applied to fighters/drones. Drone modules do affect them though. *CCP*

So it shouldnt really be an issue for a potential buyer then as those skills are only short ones anyway right.

Thanks for clarifying it btw Smile

Ah, so thats so you can use the Drone control unit right?
Having Advanced drone interfacing at V would be a added selling point then i take it?

Look on the info screen for a Super, It'll list each tier of skills for mastery, I'd say best bet would be to master them, I mean thats why its called mastery

It's a relatively short train to make a super sitter (bare minimum requirements for the ship), but the downside is a character like that will turn all the mods off, for a lack of skills.

A complete super character is a longer train, and I haven't heard of anyone grooming one of those for sale. It's just too much of a burden, and the payoff is very far off. But If you're looking to do that anyway, I might have a skill sheet for that around here somewhere.

Have you looked at what the bazaar / market is like for those characters, and what their skills are like? You might find a price point you like, and that the skills people will buy are less than max / perfect.

Which super are you looking to train, btw.

From Fozzie's Dev Blog at the end of May last year:

Quote:
To provide consistency between all the drone systems in EVE Online, and to provide more options to capital and supercapital pilots in fitting and training, we are expanding all universal drone bonuses from skills and modules to Fighters and Fighter Bombers. This means that the drone skills, including Drone Interfacing, and modules such as Drone Damage Amplifiers will all apply their bonuses to Fighters and Fighter Bombers.

To compensate for these changes, the base damage of Fighters and Fighter Bombers is being reduced. Fighters will find that with Drone Interfacing trained to five their basic damage returns to normal and all the other skills and bonuses from Drone Damage Amplifiers are pure additions. Fighter Bombers will need Drone Interfacing 5 and two Tech Two Drone Damage Amplifiers to slightly surpass their current damage rates, and any additional or higher quality Drone Damage Amplifiers will increase their damage above and beyond current maximums.

Thanks for the reply, very informative Big smile

I intend to be an Aeon pilot but still have a little way to go - mainly spaceship command skills now and hopefully will be ready to sell in a few more months - but yes, it's been a long slow road but at the time ( 2yrs ago ) i had not ever seen a super pilot trained specifically for that role from start to finish, so i decided to make one ( i still question my decision to this day ) so thats why i was posting this, basically to see if there's anything glaringly obvious ive missed out.

I'll take a peek at the char bizarre too.

Thanks again for the reply!

*edit - The offer of a skill sheet would be fantastic if your sure you don't mind

A full on Super pilot takes over a year if I recall. A 'Super sitter' takes much less, but as someone else mentioned, some sitters cannot activate all the modules when they log in.

Fit the ship and see what skills it takes to have all fittings active upon log in.

You still have viable options with a sitter, though. With a mobile depot, you can online your modules with the proper pilot. Granted, that's beyond precarious, and hopefully you have a lot of cover while making that switch.

Dev Blog - CCP Fozzie - Giving drones an assist

CCP Fozzie wrote:
The other major change we will be making to drone skills in the summer release will be the expansion of drone skills to affect all drone types consistently. This means that the racial Drone Specialization skills will now provide their damage bonus to Tech Two sentry drones as well as the normal combat drones, and that the Drone Interfacing, Drone Sharpshooting, Drone Durability, and Drone Navigation skills will all provide their bonuses to Fighters and Fighter Bombers. More details about these changes can be found in the following sections.
