We still read Closed threads, so unless you are going to completely delete the thread, why can we not continue to 'Like' posts in them?

Speaking of Closed threads, I have another suggestion.

It would only be a good idea if some manner of corresponding downvote existed - otherwise with a locked thread no one can disagree any longer/rebut any points.

Basically we can't have 'popularity' only going one way after the lock.

Presumably there are posts on either side of a debate in the thread to which someone can up vote.

We don't compete for internet points here. That's what reddit is for. This is for discussing ideas and features for Eve.

I wasn't thinking about points actually.

I just think it's a simple way to leave simple feedback. And given that someone took the time to write out a post, a post which wasn't egregious enough to be outright removed, then at the very least if someone else takes the time to read it, they ought to be able to indicate whether or not they like (i.e. agree with) the post.

It´s annoying enough that the most closed threads are most times coming back to live in the next 2 days in form of a repost. But no we don´´t need to post in closed threads because they were closed with a reason. And the don´t get deleted so that people can read them to prevent reposting (yeah most people don´t get this part).

I only want to be able to like post from IDS after a lock when they make funny comment when closing threads.

Right. And in that case you do not 'Like' a post.

Generally there will be a dissenting post anyway which could be 'Liked'.

It doesn't work that way. One doesn't simply like another post just because they dislike a post. What you're asking for is pointless, and mechanically incorrect.

The amount of fake spaceship forum points we don't compete for that the ISDs currently have is in no way representative of or commensurate with how many they'd actually have if we could like the posts they close threads with.
