Suicide Attack, Cargo Explosives.

Hello fellow pilots and CCP.

In a conversation with some friends an idea came up:

How cool it would be if you could suicide attack a ship or a fleet with a single ship full of explosives in cargo and do area damage depending on how much m³ of that type of explosive you have (KIN, THERM, EM, EXPL) or a mix of these. Twisted

The ship will use the explosive like nanite paste (right click and repair) in this case right click and detonate with no self destruct
sequence countdown, T1 industrials will be perfect for this and with T1 cloaking devices. Twisted

No, but it maybe a little more playable and complete than just make a kamikaze ship because i am not referring to a ship but a product that interacts with other aspects of the game and it's more fun like that for me at least.

kamakazi ships drones and bombs in the cargo have all come up b4 and they simply aren't ballanced

You can balance it by simply by adding a drawback, like if you have explosives in the cargo hold you can't cloak or let's say radiation or volatileness of the explosives result in the ship structure affected.

For example:
There is danger of very high temperatures and the ships hull is compromised. (THERMIC)
The electromagnetic radiation from the type of explosive/device disrupts the ships shield. (EM)
The volatileness of explosives is very high and the ships propulsion system functions at 15% (EXPLOSIVE)
The Kinetic energy of photons from the kinetic energy generator is unstable and can start a chain reaction
that creates a black hole and the result is an implosion. (KINETIC)

1. Buy ship.
2. Fit Smartbombs.
3. Fit Cap Injectors.
4. Fill cargo bay with Cap Booster Charges.
5. Undock and convert your cargo to AoE damage as fast as you can before getting CONCORDed.

i suggest a other way of suicide strike

you could buy explosives on market, fill your cargo bay and fit a remote detonator in high slot, once you activate it cycles in 15seconds then ship detonates , inflicting long rangedamage, more explosives you have , more damage at longer range. this could be done in many ships the detonation causes explosive,thermal and kinetic damage

So diferent kinds of damage,click and no SELF detonate....... isnt this smartbomb?
And why is topic called sucide attack if you dont selfdetonate,theres no sucide at all.

If it really do also damage your ship, in better way(cuz it is inside you rship) will rip it to parts, then maybe its good idea.
Will you use it like you last big hit when you ship dieing?Or will you full some hauler to make one really big explode that can kill frigates like paper and gang of this sucide haulers can endarger whole fleet if they are not shot down before they reach them.

Otherwise NO, smartbombs are already here.

And, as has been pointed out, what stops anyone from doing this on the Jita undock?

Well, there is always stealth bombers, too- just don't warp away after dropping and you'll have near the same effect.

If you're suicide bombing you wouldn't care about "safety" anyhow, right?

You already can, in a way, fit smartbombs.


Personally I see no problem with bombing the Jita undock, or Jita warp in spot at the back of the station. Teach people to be smart, have insta's, diversify their asset locations, etc etc.

1. Having smart bombs is not the same as having explosives, the one is module the other payload ( stable / unstable damage) and besides not the same fun.

2. Now for Jita undock smart bombs and explosives is almost same there isn't much difference in the outcome for frigates at least.

3. The post name is Suicide Attack, Cargo Explosives because i presumed that everyone will figure that you can do this exactly how this four words mean, i apologize if i chose the wrong words for it (basic idea is denote with type of payload in cargo and Kaboom no corpse, straight to the clone) .

4. Amak Boma you got this man maybe by combining your idea and this posts idea something awesome will be.

5. Zakks the safety measures you post are a very good idea also and must be taken in consideration .

6. Stealth Bomber.... Really, average cost is 25 million ISK not the same as a iteron witch is 500K or 1M depends on trade hub.

7. Mines are spring traps, waiting to do damage if and when someone comes that way, a mine must work like a structure or a warp bubble it needs time to arm.

8. Droping a bomb from a Stealth Bomber is not the same as being the Bomb. Blink

9. And final for this reply everyone is worried about Jita what's stopping you now from forming a fleet of destroyers or battle cruisers and fit all the high slots with Smart Bombs and have a go?!?

It works better with battleships, that's what.

Would your bomb idea not do more damage than 8 large smartbombs? If not, what would be the point in ever actually using it?
