I fly with a guy who was about your age when he started playing.(maybe slightly older) Iv known him since he was 16-17 and he is waaaaaayyyyy more mature than me (he is about 20 now and I'm 30). He and I ended up as directors in a semi-professional c5 pvp corp and basically ended up running it for a good while.

So like everyone else has said age shouldn't matter as long as u act mature and behave, then no one will really mind.

Ps. Blod if you read this then your a **** and I hate you (told you about my maturity Big smile)

I don't need twitter. I'm already following you.

Eve welcomes you with open palms, no matter what your age. As long as you show for ops, and do the assigned chores I don't think many people would care.

And 14 was an awesome year, but i haven't be ID'd, ever, so i'm totally biased. Not that you should do anything i did.
Then again, if you're really into playing eve, you won't have much time for that other stuff.

+1 for asking

Use the force without consent and the court wont acquit you even if you are a card carryin', robe wearin' Jedi.

I recently got into EVE about a month ago and have been having a whale of a time. Recently I started doing some factional warfare and the more I look around the internet, the more it seems that joining a corp is the best way to get the most out of EVE in general.

The problem is, I am only 14 years old and most online gaming communities hate teens. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but the vast majority of corps seem to have comms as a requirement. This makes me a bit cautious about joining one so I'm wondering if most corps in EVE are against having an adolescent among their ranks due to the sound of their voice or a bias.

You wrote that whole thing in proper English. Capitalized in the correct places, decent grammar, solid spelling, and paragraphs.

I already like you better than the majority of people who post in here.

Welcome to the game, young man!

Ill admit I am reluctant to bring Teens into my corp and this unfortunately due to my experience with them a players

basically they were reckless and far too keen to burn everything and they have...ill stop now Blink

However we have 3 in the project so far and as long as I manage their pubescent rage they can very capable pilots, far better then me at any rate

there is bias towards the young but it has been in some cases warranted

I removed some double posts (Yes, the forum is acting up again sadly) and an off-topic one.

And OP, you're younger than my oldest kid *), but don't let that stop you. That also goes for posting on the forum, as you wrote a pretty decent post. So welcome to EvE!

As a childish and bitchy person in his 40s i can vouch for this.
All i would add is that having an under-18 player on comms would modify the comms. Some corps have the 18+ requirement not because of your immaturity, but their desire to relax into immaturity, appalling language, manners.

One of the best FC's I've met was a kid around your age. I've also known some pretty good PVPers in their early-mid teens. Like others have said, it's not really about chronological age its about maturity. If you act like a spoiled brat you'll be put in your place (unless of course you are the leader of a major alliance where acting like a spoiled brat is mandatory).

Some people prefer the drama.

Some prefer a more stoic corporate environment.

Horses for courses, as they say.

And, there's your unqualified "maybe." Fact is, EVE players (as is true for all mature gamers) have no tolerance for kids. So, you get a lot of "it all depends." What it depends on, if you haven't figured it out yet, is if the kid's behavior resembles theirs.

That being said, I have to add: I've never been exposed to a more immature group of adults than in MMOs.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

Oh don't mind me, Mr. Naharis always peers upwards through the posts.

But you are exactly right. As long as you behave well, keep a calm head on your shoulders and don't get overtly whacky or whiny or any of the unsavory stuff that we despise, you'll do well. And if you squeak? Well, use a voice editor.

Adolescent boys are widely considered to be one of, if not the most, sought-after demographic by game development studios, but the uptick of female gamers could be a signal of changes to come. Mobile ad firm Flurry Analytics found that on on the whole, women presented a much larger value proposition to game developers in terms of revenue and brand engagement.

Bottom line I have no Issues I feel the more CCP Can Cater to all sorts to gamers age, Gender and Demographics the Larger the Playerbase will be at this Point Eve Online is really in the need of more Young Mature Players such as yourself. Unfortunately I see some of The old bitter Immature Minority of The Eve Community is Holding CCP Back from Greatness its time for CCP to take some risks and be Bold! on this age issue we are very much in need of Young Blood to carry the Torch For the Next Generation Of Eve Online Players As Long as there is Respect regardless of Age.

You seem more mutate than a guy in the alliance I am in.
As someone stated before, I think he falls under the late bloomer effect.

And as stated by many before me - it isn't the age that matters it is the maturity.
