Uncompletable Mission?

I'm trying to clean up old missions I've had sitting around for a while, and I think the one I have from Olarie Lacenten is broken. The mission title is "Ore Site Scanning" but it doesn't seem possible to complete it now because it's not listed as one of her missions in EVElopedia, and there aren't any ore sites in Clellinon. Is this something that changed in the Odyssey release? I hate to abandon the mission but I'll do it if that's the only way to remove it from my list.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Ahhh, that's a Career Agent. Definitely submit a Support Ticket and ask to have the mission reset.

To submit a Support Ticket = Open Eve Help (F12 key) in game, select 'Create New Ticket'. Basically it's 'Mission in progress' / 'Character Stuck'.

Didn't the Ore Site Scanning missions get taken out because ore sites in general are now directely warpable anoms? There is no longer any scanning involved.

1. I can only guess that evelopedia is horribly out of date
2. can you complete it with normal ore on the market
3. is there a mission location in the journal?
4. a petition will likely fix it
5. its only a lv1 mission it really doesn't matter if you just abandon it.

I disagree.

It's never a good idea to abandon a mission after accepting it, especially when it's part of a mission series.

I thought much the same for a long time, then the other day I blew up the special delivery. the standing loss was so minor it made me question that attitude. Standings are fluid enough they are hardly worth bothering with. Aside from COSMOS missions it is essentially outside my scope of caring.

Yes, I believe that was the cause of my issue. I petitioned it and a GM reset the mission for me. The next mission offered by the contact was the same as the second one in her EVElopedia article, followed by the rest as expected.

Well, for older players like us with high standings I can understand and even agree with that.

However for newish players just starting out earning standings, I still stand by my original statement.

Fair point, I would add that I was working on raising standings with a new corporation and got a bunch of faction kill missions, and I did turn down a number of them (I also ran a few) inside the 4 hour decline window and my net standings did go up. I would consider it an option to consider, but use sparingly

This being a career mission chain that gives a good chunk of faction standing at the end of the chain, and that can never be repeated, abandoning this particular mission would be a bad idea.
