For wormhollers would be very useful of game client kept track of who is deleting bookmarks and when.

We had an incident where someone maliciously deleted an exit bookmark for a rolled out member, this kind of stuff should be traceable and with time stamps.

Better yet when it is as important as an exit those who really need it should have it in their personal BM as well.
Since those who can delete corp books marks usually have roles for other critical things you may have a much larger problem than simple disappearing book marks.

Having said that my only concern with your idea is related to the overhead/load it places on the server. If it could be handled without adversely affecting the servers then I say +1.

sounds like you are giving roles to the wrong people.

i would rather see an audit log on pos mods first

in larger wormhole corps, everyone has roles to bookmarks. its the only way it works.

When someone awoxes, there is a kill report. But when someone maliciously edits or deletes a bookmark to get someone killed on purpose, there is no record. Thats not right.

Everyone in corp is able to make bookmarks without roles. It takes roles to be able to delete bookmarks. If you have issues with people deleting bookmarks, than you need to perform some corp management and review role assignments rather than ask CCP to fix your problem for you.

Threads like this make me smile. I tip my hat off to the person who ****** up your bookmarks.

I'm also going to say no to this idea. Because the game at large is already an accounting nightmare and people (especially newer players) are put off by things like audit logs and entry journals.

In fact.... lets get rid of all of that!!! Male it so that it takes REAL trustto know when and wheere shi is happening!!! Muahahahahaha

Sounds like you are leaning towards the HTFU side of the argument. Fine by me, diversity of opinions and all that. But fyi, HTFU era has passed, we are in the revival of EVE era. And while they are tightening the screws on griefers, scammers, awoxers, etc., they can implement bookmark logs as well.

This is a social MMO. If you can't get a straight answer out of corpmates you have a problem. Try levelling up your [Persuade] and Charisma. Totally taking the human element out of the equation and making the game like some soul-sucking accounting office will not make it a successful MMO.

And what everyone else is saying, is that they believe that having a bookmark log is pretty much on the low end of the list. Remember, you need the support of the community if you want your idea to pass. If you lack the support of the community, well guess what, you get threads where many of the people are telling you to "HTFU". Attacking them for telling you this, is instead, not working in your favor.

I down vote this idea, simply because I think CCP has better things to work on at the moment, then wasting time trying to figure out how to put in a bookmark management log without melting the servers, as they attempt to keep track of EVERYSINGLEPERSONANDCORPANDALLIANCE adding and deleting said bookmarks, sometimes in mass.

No this is only how it works with lazy leadership you only NEED one person with the role online when people need to have BMs deleted not every one

the only reason you need everyone to have it is because you can't work out who needs it

Pretty much this. Not everyone needs to be able to delete corp bookmarks.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Two or three people in the corp spread over a few time zones with the proper role, and a developed schedule of when certain bookmarks are deleted. This is refered to as corp management.

Yeah this works only when the players involved have no life. Not saying I dont fit into that category but others dont and so they are stuck given out roles more arbitrarily.

no you still only need enough people that at the very least one of them can get on every to days and since this mainly a problem in larger corps that's shouldn't be so hard

It has nothing to do with players who have no life. I work a full time job, have a pretty good social life, and still manage to get on at least an hour a day and do my forum warrioring from work. It takes roughly two minutes for someone following a planned deletion schedule to clear old unusable bookmarks out of the corp bookmark list.

Once again, this brings us back to you having to make choices. Give everyone the ability to remove bookmarks and deal with someone possibly removing bookmarks you don't want deleted, or assign people to manage your corp's bookmarks. CCP doesn't need to manage your corp for you.
