There are 10,000's of PLEX's out there now and CCP has been allowing people to buy real world items with them like collectors Editions Tickets and so on.
how many of you Rich I mean Rich players would be willing to hand over a few plex for some new hardware like Graphics cards headphones or even for say 1000 plex a mid range gaming PC.
it sounds like some kind of scam but think about it we all benefit from the reduction of PLEX's on the market less plex the more they cost so for the seller they make a few more isk and for the less well off in real life that are ISK rich they can in turn get something back.

I don't think it would be that hard for a company like CCP to do something like this as they will reduce the amount of PLEX's on the market and in turn sell more increasing there take.

I just listed the big ass items as a what if but it would be great to be able pick up real life cap's T-shirt mug and so on for a PLEX maybe exchange them in to some kind of PLEX point's say 1000 per PLEX and each item cost X amount of PLEX point's.

this may have already been suggested but I couldn't find anything similar.

list a few items you would like to see and please no silly real life ships as 200 billion PLEX's is a bit much for any one lol.

Although unrealisti ...

Diapers for PLEX for example.
Diapers are expensive and most people use them,
although not completely necessary. A huge financial hole.

Children's clothes for PLEX. Lots of poor families out there
and children constantly need new clothes.

Canned food for PLEX. Food that just stays okay,
for those who barely can afford living.

Cat-, Dogfoid for PLEX. That never gets broken anyway.

Basically everything poor people, who struggle, could need.

There are people out there who need financial help ...
... and this would be huge for them.

Because, seriously, no one can eat a gfx card and it screams decadence.
People out there struggle with living and ...
... and then there's people who want crap they throw away eventually, for PLEX.

That's disgusting...

The purpose of the EVE Online forums is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas, and a venue for the discussion of EVE Online. Occasionally there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Forum users are expected to be courteous when disagreeing with others.

3. Ranting is prohibited.

A rant is a post that is often filled with angry and counterproductive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community and is helpful in development of the game and community. Rants are disruptive, and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise and clear manner while avoiding going off on rambling tangents.

4. Personal attacks are prohibited.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another forum user. Posts of this nature are not conductive to the community spirit that CCP promotes. As such, this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.

5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive, and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

7. Discussion of real life religion and politics is prohibited.

Discussion of real life religion and politics is strictly prohibited on the EVE Online forums. Discussions of this nature often creates animosity between forum users due to real life political or military conflicts. CCP promotes the growth of a gaming community where equality is at the forefront. Nationalist, religious or political afiliations are not part of EVE Online, and should not be part of discussion on the EVE Online forums.

13. Spamming is prohibited.

Spam is defined as the repetitive posting of the same topic or nonsensical post that has no substance and is often designed to annoy other forum users. This can include the words “first”, “go back to [insert other game name]” and other such posts that contribute no value to forum discussion. Spamming also includes the posting of ASCII art within a forum post, or the practice of “thread necromancy” which involved bumping of old threads for no justifiable reason.

23. Post constructively.

Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve EVE Online provided that it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All users are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding EVE Online and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. Users are also reminded that posting with a lack of content also constitutes non-constructive posting.

27. Off-topic posting is prohibited.

Off-topic posting is permitted within reason, as sometimes a single comment may color or lighten the tone of discussion. However, excessive posting of off-topic remarks in an attempt to derail a thread may result in the thread being locked, or a forum warning being issued to the off-topic poster.

34. Posting of inappopriate content is prohibited.

The posting of pornography, discriminatory remarks which are sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive as well as excessive obscene or vulgar language, posts which discuss or illustrate illegal activity, or an instance of providing links to sites that contain any of the aforementioned is strictly prohibited on the EVE Online forums.

Cleaned up per the above rules.

Personal note: I've cleaned up lots of threads, but this one attracted particularly vile comments full of hate. I don't understand why, but I have a recommendation: chill out. Feel like insulting someone, their mother, their dog, and their favorite pajamas? Stop. Take a short break from the forums. Maybe have some tea.

if your paying 19950 for a mid range your being ripped off

my point is there plex btw and if your buying plex to get the items then your expecting to pay extra.

No one in there right mind is going to buy 1000 or 100 PLEX just to buy something from a shop when they can pay less for cash.

The point in a shop where you can use PLEX to buy items is because you can earn the isk in game and buy the PLEX you need and not to go and buy the PLEX for cash that would just be silly.

For your own thread's sake I ask you to not quote the whole ISD post,
because it is written right there anyway.
Just annoys others, because they have to scroll through what they already scrolled past anyway.

I know this happens. It's an oversight people make,
but it's really annoying.

I hope you consider my thoughts into this as well. I don't oppose the idea,
I think it's great ... and of course people should also be able to buy luxury items
if they want to ... but there are lots of people who only have EVE ONLINE as their hobby,
because they literally can't afford anything else and struggle with life.

For them, basic things they need would be a godsend.

Thank you.

I think it won't happen other than for short term promo mostly because of the burden it would put on them for dealing with the work it would generate with inventory, shipping and other related stuff which can be somewhat limited if you only do it for limited time/qty promotion. When they do limited offers like the collector box for example, they can easyly say there will be 2k of them and after that, it's over. If they open a real shop, stuff would somewhat have to be available all the time and you could not just make a blitz of shipping not affecting the operation as much over time.

Firstly sorry was a bit long.

second I agree with you a lot of people play eve that are low on real life cash that's why being able to buy a plex to play is such a great help.

I understand by removing plex from the game would raise the price of them but not to a point where people wouldn't be able to earn the isk for them there not going to quadruple in price if that's your worry most likely there hang around the 1 billion mark when things settle down.

the down side to the early PLEX shop would most likely be with the big corps buying them up cheap before it opens but that sort of thing happens all the time not 2 months ago plex went over a billion now there down to 800mil again.

I see a few ways around this but all will mean some extra work yes.

1) have a contract with a 3rd party or parties where you would place your order for the item and when you order it is sent to them to ship.

this save on inventory space.

downside is invoicing for the items and CCP paying the 3rd party but I'm sure the size of CCP now they can work that out a lot easier than we can as they know there business better than we do.

2) they could limit the larger items as already suggested above in promos this would reduce the need for large amounts of stock I don't expect nor do I think CCP would go out and stock up on 10000 units of any given item let alone the big ones.

if you don't have the money to eat why the hell do you have the net and a pc

if I was so broke my kids needed food the PC would be gone in a flash so your point makes no sense.

I like the idea. But this risks crashing and destroying the PLEX market if implemented and on the back end for CCP it would probably require a lot of work to fulfill the orders etc.

PLEX should fulfill its primary purpose first and foremost. To trade ISK for Game time and vice versa. Allowing people with more time and less income to play and those with less time and more money to have ingame assets.

If you want to kill eve this is a great idea as it will pretty much remove anyone who doesn't pay with irl and doesn't have a stash from the game because plex prices will shoot up so much.

EvE-Mail me if you need anything.
