Hi all i have not been playing for some time, but i have all my PI skills at max.

When i try to place the extractor heads i often see that i get more from them if i place them in the red area around the white and not in the center of the white area? How do that work, as i thought that the white area had more resources to extract?

Accuracy is skill dependent, and nothing is accurate until you hit the button to start.

Are you moving the left hand scan arrow to narrow the precision?

When you say that all of your PI skills are at max, does that mean you have Planetology and Advance Planetology both at 5?

When you are moving the heads around, are you in the same system, constellation or region?

Yah both on level 5. And have tried in both when i was at the planet and when i was some systems away.
But that was the same.

I noticed the same behaviour (same skill set). Though i did it only while in system or 1 jump away from it.

Hourly and total over the time are the only things I pay attention to. So 24,000/ hr or 600,000 over a day.

The rest is random smoke.

All of that depends on where you place your extractor heads.
The phenomenon occours when you place them. You have scaned the resource you want to extract until you have a small white area surrounded by red. If you place the head into the white it tells you amount xyz. Now you move it have into half way into the red area. And you got a higher extraction rate than in the white area where it should have the highest yield.

i miss the old extractor head system, where you didn't have to spend 2k Powergrid on the ABILITY to place an extractor that also costs and additional 550 PG. Used to make single planet P3 chains viable. Now you have to delete stuff and move things around in order to do a very poor P3 chain...Ugh
