Need clarification on farming Story line items???

So, we were looking at story line items and what would be needed to farm them. all we would need to do it keep remaking the character once it was done. Then some one in our discussion had said that he had read a forum post awhile back on CCP contacting him to stop remaking the character...

So my question is, is it allowed or not allowed to remake a character over and over again to farm story line items?

you will have to make a petition to find a real answer to that. maybe someone from CCP will say something here, but i mostly doubt that.

there is a line somewhere about recycling alts, although that usually has to do with getting around sec status issues. although they might apply that to other things.

GD is for the strong willed and steadfast of heart, not the 'I just came from Diablo and want to do the Eve equivalent of Baal runs' kiddies who aren't going to like what the GD militia has to say.

Diablo has Baal right? Im sure people farm that guy with their teleport cloak and level 98 Fire spec paladin.

Wait.. is it Diablo that has the fire paladins.. or is that... (mumbles to self, sound of papers flipping).. yeah.. ill just go with it.

Yeah.. im sure that's at least marginally accurate.

Im sure that what you want to do is akin to constantly recycling low security status characters, and CCP says that is a bad thing.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

as COSMOS missions may only be run once per character, and some have incredibly good rewards, but most have complete junk. I half want to call it exploity, half bad game design. pretty sure someone at CCP said it was a less than ideal situation back when they were talking about the epic arcs.

would this not come under the same point as reuseing chars for ganking.

CCP did say that if you keep deleteing a char to gank with IE make char get to thrasher/cata with it a few days.. kill till its sec status is to low to work in HS delete and remake. If you do this over and over again its a bannable offence.

I would guess remakeing a toon over and over to redo the mission to get nice rewards to sell on market will be the exact same

its similar but not the same. last I remember hearing was CCP took some issue to people doing this kind of thing with at least one of the missions, so they changed it so instead of requiring amarr navy standings to 5, it required amarr empire standings to 5.

CCP, and most game companies, do not like you quoting GMs or Devs. You could potentially misquote or misrepresent what they said and cause problems. Therefore you could paraphrase I think. But make it clear you are not quoting them. If they want to say something official, they will do so themselves.

No, it is not. It might even have consequences, up to and possibly including a ban across your accounts (depending on the severity and at CCP's discretion).

what's the point with storyline items ?

most of them are just way overpriced to build (up to 200mil) and can hardly compete with a meta 4 variant

I know its CCP's game but how do they justify this one?
I also do not see how the original question would be viewed as illegal either.

If you chose to delete your character over and over, how can you get mad about that?

You are seriously going to ban someone for over deleting? Thats amusing.

Sounds like a bad system covered by a worse rule.

not if it takes a day or 2 of training to be functional
