iv never heard of ccp ever partaking of the sandbox and joining us in glorious space combat

has this ever happened before?

i realize that they probably dont have as much time to play the game as they could be finishing their work instead... just seems kind of a shame they cant enjoy it as much

or maybe im just not a cool kid that is privy to that kind of info. idk.

More seriously, yes some members of CCP play the game and there are also CCP live events (that don't go particularly well usually).

One of the rules for most game admins or developers is:
You cannot let other players know that you are an admin
and
You cannot use your position to influence the game.

At some point, a conflict could arise that might jeopardize the job. So, what would be more important at that moment?
To be honest, over the years, (in all kinds of games, not EVE specifically) many people have lost their job over these kinds of things.

I'm sure that some CCP employees play, but if they do it right, we will never know.

Google T20 incident eve online and ull see what happens when devs have shady accounts

also if they were players before they got the job they have to put those toons into holding and irc cant use them again till they leave the company thats why they get ccp named toons......

I don't get why your not alowed to play with an alt if your on ccp/dev team. If you don't abuse your power by giving your alt free stuff and you don't tell people who you really are then i don't see the problem..besides its not like they don't have some guys monitoring some other guys activities.

Funny Response: No. The people who work at CCP are not allowed to play their own creation and simply design by whim and numbers.

Serious Response: Yes. CCP employees are allowed to have up to 2(?) free accounts that are completely separate from their CCP character accounts. However there ARE restrictions.

- CCP employees are not allowed to divulge their identity to players. If they are somehow "discovered" then their character is "burned" and they have to use a new one (I am unsure if they are allowed to transfer all their assets over to the new character).

- CCP employees may not partake in "grey areas" of the game. By this I mean they are not allowed to; scam, ransom, pirate, suicide gank, manipulate the market, or (correct me if I am wrong) be in charge of a player-owned corporation/alliance.

- CCP employees may not give any information regarding CCP projects or development in-game... nor are they allowed to give any items to any player using "DEVHAX."


Now every once in awhile, CCP employees will get together on their CCP characters and try roaming around for kills (usually in laughably fit ships)... but they generally don't last long as every person in the game will come gunning for them.

More recently they've whelped fleets to PL on their CCP characters as well as loot pinatas, those were announced ops though.

us gal mil did have ccp chatgris but he disappeared around the time other devs left for riot games........... come to think of it those qcats did play league of legends an awful lot

It would be great for CCP to form a roam in say, Jove ships. Giving players a chance to get unique kill and loss mails.
