Once, when I was trying hopelessly to explain what eve was to a non-eve playing friend, I linked him this character's portrait and he said "oh wow, he's a bit of a silver fox!" (i.e. a handsome older guy).

I, not knowing at the time what a "silver Fox" was, replied: "huh? what? is that a character from a video game or something? 'cos he's not based on anyone."

then he explained, and I felt stupid and also rather awkward about suddenly looking at my toon in a way I hadn't before...Ugh
