I stopped the download and resumed it after 5 minutes and surprisingly all the DL threads connected and the speed jumped all the way to a steady100KB/s. Check the screen, notice it was only around 68MB downloaded at that time, been downloading pendraisingly for more than 2 hours.

I guess it suddenly became my turn in the queue!

When's later?

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

It wont be like this in Star Citizen when it arrives in 3023.

I fixed the year for you.

During the Third Succession War?

Wouldnt they be more interested in LIVING Star Citizen/Mechwarrior than playing it lol

Then, the canned and preserved head of Chris Roberts will claim that he invented and designed the future, and only Centurion level or higher citizens will be allowed to partake in space until 4023, unless of course they bought into space back in 1893 when it was back on crankstarter.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Yeah but that's assuming there's bandwith left ...
... but why would there?

Because "all other internet services are still super fast (up to 110KB/s)". I don't make an ass out of you and me

Errr no, I thought you meant on CCPs side.

There's no use opening more download streams,
but you're of course always free to try and see what happens.

Well ... okay ... it's too late now anyway.

I'm willing to bet the download manager down stream has a dl limit set. HODOR.

I use u-torrent and always change the download to unlimited and upload to 25k

What happened to the exe file in EVE/bin ? I used to bypass the launcher and directly launch the game with that exe. did they remove it?

Nope it's still there, called exefile.exe

It's been "exefile.exe" since 2007 ... and likely before.

So, figured it out the hard way when I had a choppy game ... "****, probably something snuck onto my PC (I was in a college dorm at the time)"

(check process manager) ... "exefile.exe ... never heard of it, and it's eating a load of resources"
(kill it) .. "dammit! Why'd EVE close?!"

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Yeah it does, more than just the smell tbh... But since some people might be genuinely interested in an answer I prefer giving an actual answer, or as some call it, feed the troll.

Called it on first page already.
OP has a history of trolling.

But she's really good at it, unlike absolutely most.

Here's what pendraised. I learned it by experience today.

After the patch was applied the exefile in EVE/bin was deleted, so I started the game via the launcher for the first time after the patch. Then after quitting, the old shortcut for the exe file in EVE/Bin started working again.

It seems that the launcher recreates the exe file after every patch.

Of course it does.
