Really curious -- why are there high buy orders for slaves in Jita? Is this a scam to try to get people blown up by customs? Or are slaves actually used for something in-game?

They, like Exotic Dancers and Fedos, are often put into a ship by the superstitious to appease the PVP gods.

After all, what sort of sick, twisted god would blow up a ship with three slaves and a Fedo in its cargo?

Look on killboards, you'll see a fair number of them in the cargo of ships that pop. It's just a long running joke in EVE.

Of course, if someone falls for a customs attack, that's even funnier.

It's a sick joke or a CONCORD sting operation! They got me for running a load of slaves, took my cargo and fined me. Cry

It's made me double check when I find something too good to be true.

They should be required to fuel null sec Amarr stations and POSs in all space. Give them a better reason to exist and a job to do. All non combat items should have at least one good use. I would like to see stations require things like wheat, slaves, spirits, frozen food and any other commodity that doesn't have a real reason to be on the market. All of these places need janitors or scientist who else is going to do all that work in the structures.

That actually sounds mildly entertaining. Make it so the slaves, scientist, other personnel affect the efficiency of your POS. Then all those consumable goods are needed to keep'em alive and working. When everything is "maxed out" you get a bonus to defense, offense, or industry depending on the type or mix of personnel you have assigned to the POS.

When in doubt, improvise. If improvising doesn't work liberal aplication of a large hammer is recomended until the problem is fixed or no longer a concern.

I just don't like having market items that don't do anything. I can go either way with having commodities give bonuses to the station. I think something like this would add some complexity to running a stations and give the unused items a purpose other than riding in a cargo hold to their doom or sitting in my station hanger.

A station could require these per month and if they aren't provided then the station would not operate properly. Not all of these but a list of these with their racial version. Something that isn't game breaking but gives stations some flavor.

Slaves are used in outposts and outpost upgrades. Not many, but they're there.

Okay, so instead of bennies just make so that they're required for the station to operation at 100%. I like it.

That could work, actually, if the price of slaves was brought down considerably. Honestly, it would probably require quite a few slaves to work a space station and the price of npc labor can't be that much.

I'm not up to speed on all things null sec but it is good to hear that they are used. I need to do some research on it because I like knowing junk like that.
