Hi there,

Our enemies destroyed our high sec Pos hatz off to them war dec yay for us.
They have replaced our Pos with a new armed Pos that belongs to them.

We have an orca logged off at that location inside the pos shields.

Question is- When our Orca logs in, will it warp to the inside of the Pos then bounce out or will it warp to the outside of the Pos shields?

See if some plan can be hatched to save it from a medium armed Pos with 1 disruptor 1 scrambler and lots of pulse batteries and rail batteries.

Thanks all and this is not a troll.

AFAIK, the orca should e-warp back to the POS, be unable to enter the shields and bounce off. Its then at the mercy of the POS defences.

You could get it out, have a fleet attacking the POS, so that unless the scrams are controlled, at some point the orca will be unscrammed, you web it into warp faster and hope, basically,

Assuming the old and new POSes are in the same place (they usually are), the Orca would warp to the POS, bounce off the shields, and then be at the mercy of the POS defenses.

The easiest thing to do in terms of safely extracting your Orca is to simply wait out the wardec. Once it expires, their POS defenses cannot harm your Orca in any way.

If you are unable or unwilling to wait, you will need to disable those warp disruption/scrambling batteries or your Orca will most likely be a sitting duck.

You've indicated that there are no web batteries and no ECM batteries. If this is the case, it is possible, although risky and tedious, to incapicate the disruptor/scrambling batteries using Afterburner-fit stealth bombers. Their high speed and low signature radius means that POS guns can't track them if they hug the shield unless they are webbed or the POS is fitted with close-range faction small batteries. Their high DPS and good range means that they can apply damage to the batteries from anywhere in their orbit.

Assuming you can get 500DPS out of a Stealth Bomber (which isn't hard), it takes one bomber, uninterrupted, about an hour to incapacitate a POS EWar battery. If you can get 4 bombers, it would only take half an hour to do both. Then you could log in the Orca and warp it away freely.

The risk here is that the POS owners will get notifications that their POS is under attack, so this will have to be done at a time when they are not online.

Hounds and Purifiers work best as you'll want the three low slots for damage mods.

Drop the Orca pilot from corp to an NPC corp.

Log in - warp off - Rejoin corp.

Unless I'm mistaken, you can't kick a character from corp until they dock.

That only applies if they are logged in I think.

If they are logged out or DT hits - they should be out of the corp at next log in.

Correct, easiest solution.

Some really smart options have been posted here.
I was going to add, POS's lock drones too sometimes. Warp in a throw away frigate and launch 5 drones to take agro.

^ Their ideas are the only way to go imo.

Ahhh, gotcha. I felt like I was missing something.

Agreed then, kicking he pilot is the easiest solution.

If you warp five Orcas to the POS it will overload the guns. Allowing your Orca to escape. We have done this before and it is certified.

You're gonna kick him anyways aren't you ... for logging an orca off inside a POS (more so during a wardec)?

It only takes a minute or so, when you're done with an orca, to travel fit it, warp to a safe-spot, and either cloak or logoff there. To log him in again, if there's a wardec, just scout the system for WTs and login if there are none. Alternatively check for combat probes during the login recovery warp and, if needed, cloak as soon as the warp stops. once you're sure the system is safe uncloak and warp the orca and then refit for whatever you want to do with it.

The difference between safety and stupid so often lies in the little things you do.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.
