FINALLY got my standing high enough to do lvl 4 missions.
I'd like to know from those more experienced than myself if faction or tech 2 missiles are worth the cost.
I use a Tengu, so I'm assuming that kinetics are the best way to go.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you are using Accelerated Ejection Bay (you did not post fit) Scourge is best.

I'm using this fitting, http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/62755-Proper-Level-4-Tengu.html
with Republic Fleet 10MN Afterburner.

Currently using Scourge missiles. Tech 1 version.

After reading a post by John Wesher, I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask this here as well.
If anyone with experience in this would be willing to take a look at my current skills and offer suggestions on priorities for training, it would be very helpful.

I know that I need to work on drone skills, among other thing, just not sure what the best order is.
Currently working on getting all sub-system skills up to five for my Tengu.

faction and tech 2 are worth it since u complete the missions significantly faster, especially against frigates u will need precisions to make any decent headway with the elite ones.

Not sure why you want drone skills, as far as I'm aware the tengu doesn't have any?

You want guided missile precision to 4 asap, that's going to increase your damage application a lot.

Other than that it looks ok, but if you wanted to do level 4 missions: one does wonder why you rushed into a tengu.

Nice high-grade crystal implants. . . after letting every one know, don't go flying around in only your capsule. Blink

CN Faction in T2 launchers seem a common choice.

Not sure where I read it, but I was under the impression that this was a viable ship for running missions.
What's a better option?

Outside of interference from other players, L4 missions aren't very demanding. They can be run in heavy assault cruisers, battlecruisers, strategic cruisers, command ships, battleships, marauders, or (with difficulty) in a few other ships.

Your Tengu will do just fine. Just be aware that if it has too many expensive modules on it, someone might just pay you a visit and pry them from your wreck.

Assuming you are doing other stuff with the Tengu as well it will do level IV missions fine.

Generally people skill up for a Tengu to so something else like anoms and then also run hisec level IVs when they are in the mood to grind easy missions.

If however you only intend to run IVs and nothing else its a very skill intensive way to go about it and an expensive ride and you would be better off training up one of the T1 BS like a Raven or Domi.
