Greetings capsuleers and all manners of internat-based peoples.

DJ Auger and Eve Radio are proud to announce that the seventh series of the New Eden Combat League (formerly the Eve Raido Combat League) is about to begin! On January 6th, the NECL opens with UNRESTRICTED Rookie Ships at 0100gmt (1/5 at 8pm EST) on www.eve-combat.com and www.eve-radio.com

So what is the New Eden Combat League? The NECL is a 1-on-1 PVP championship that anyone can join. No entry fees. No commitments. No compromises. It is a 16-week league comprised of four rounds, one in each empire space with four-week rounds. Show up in the round's system in the right ship and you are in! Simple as that! Battle through the bracket and come out on top to win ISK every week. Though no pilot needs to commit to the entire 16-week schedule, there are added incentives for those that come week after week and perform well on a consistent basis. Points are awarded for each kill, and the pilot with the most points at the end of each round wins the Round Pot, while the champion after all four rounds wins the grand prize of 1 Billion ISK and a PLEX!

Last series, we introduced extra bonuses for special events that can occur with each fight. This gives even the first-time fighter mid-season a great chance at substantial prizes.

UNDERDOG BONUS - Just getting started? Missed a few weeks? Down on your luck? If you are in 6th place or lower, and you land a kill on someone in the Top 5, you receive 3 POINTS for the kill! Land a kill on a Top 5 competitor to win the Week for a total of 5 POINTS on top of your other winnings!

ONSLAUGHT BOUNS - If you have a knack for quick kills, this is the bonus for you. Get a kill in the first 60 seconds of a battle and receive an additional point!

KILLSTREAKS - No, they don't make your ship more powerful, but they will be instrumental in securing your place in the standings. Win 5 battles in a row to activate this bonus. Every kill you land in a row after the fifth is worth two points, and rolls over week after week. This can help you pull away from the pack, but watch your back!

KINGSLAYER BONUS - Once a pilot activates his or her Killstreak, every kill they land thereafter adds a point to that pilot's Kingslayer Bonus. If that pilot is killed, the pilot with the final blow gets the accumulated Kingslayer Bonus, which can lead to a MASSIVE jump in the standings!

So what sets us apart from past player-run fight clubs that have gone to the wayside? We have been doing these leagues for the last two years straight with no sign of slowing down. As mentioned earlier, we are going into our seventh series, including three series of the Eve Radio Free For All Cup Series and three series of the Eve Radio Combat League. We are dedicated to exciting, player driven content and delivering a top-notch, television-quality presentation for our broadcasts. Check out the Media page on www.eve-combat.com for examples of the overall look of the Combat league from the past six series.

Want to get in on the action? Check out our website for all the latest news and events in the NECL: www.eve-combat.com. The show takes place during HARSH GENERATION on Tuesdays at 0000gmt (Monday 7pm EST) on www.eve-radio.com. We look forward to seeing you all there.

The League relies on player donations and sponsorships to thrive. All donated isk and prizes to the character DJ Auger in-game goes to the Combat League. Recap - Week One: Lightning Fast Fights Kick Off Series Seven

With eight fights out of nine lasting lest than a minute each, the first week of Series Seven of the New Eden Combat League hit the ground running and never looked back. In the end, with six newcomers in the ten-pilot field, it was series veteran Grim Darknite that took the win. Here's how it all went down.

Our first fight, after a slight delay for redocking, featured Preseason Showdown winner Eija-Riitta Veitonen and newcomer Ambar Khardula. It was a perfect kill for Veitonen, as Khardula was unable to land any damage on the NECL vet. Next was a grueling endurance test between two newcomers Alan Mathison and Jenny Caldari. It was also the first time that we got to see the new "shrinking boundary" rule in action, with an already "small" arena of 40km in radius shrunk down to 20km and then even 10km in the last minute. It was Jenny Caldari that succumbed to the shrinking boundary with 43 seconds to go in the match.

Following that marathon were three battles that did not last even thirty seconds each. Aeocas quickly dispached the uniquely-named CaCi-A 001Me and MBizon Osis wiped out newcomer Sweetcheese. Grim Darknite earned his place in the Semifinals by dispatching Newcomer to the NECL (but no newcomer to Eve Radio by any means) Rob Kaichin.

Our Wildcard Play-In matched, set up to determine our final spot in the semifinals in a bracket with nine or ten pilots, featured the two lowest scoring pilots from Series Six (as there had yet to be any standings for Series Seven) that qualified for the Finals. This pitted MBizon Osis against Alan Mathison, with Osis dispatching Mathison within the first minute, despite an agressive active tank setup from Mathison.

Osis would follow up his Play-In performance with a quick knockout of Aeocas, who came out in third place in Series Six of the NECL. Then, Grim Darknite snatched victory from Eija-Riitta Veitonen when Veitonen committed a 40km Boundary Violation within the first minute of the fight, allowing Darknite to not only get the win but the Onslaught Bonus point as well. This is the first time a bonus has been awarded for a Boundary Violation win in NECL history.

This led to a faceoff of two active-tanked titans in a quick, albeit close, battle between MBizon Osis and Grim Darknite, with Darknite coming out as Week One Champion.

Updated standings our now on the Standings page, as well as the bracket for this match on the Results page. Keep an eye out on the Media page for a complete recap of all the action very soon.

Next week, in the Aufay System, we will continue the NECL with Tech 1 Meta 4-fit Frigates at 0100gmt. Join us in the Eve-Radio in-game channel and live on eve-radio.com to get in on all the action!
