I think the vengeance is better than the retri becuase:

the vengeance has selectable damage type with fast reload and a 3rd mid slot so u can go prop, scram web single rep (on a single rep vengeance with a nos us can be cap stable but are vunerable to neuts).

you also have the option of going prop, scram cap booster and dual rep, which can tank a ton but suffers in range control.

another option is to buffer tank the vengance for around 10 or 11k ehp i think

also with rockets/missiles u do not have to worry about transversal only speed/sig rad so u can orbit a turret ship reducing his chance to hit but not urs.

and for its drawbacks its slow.

the retri is a good ship but i think its even more niche than the vengeance beacause of the damage type and the 2 mid slot layout. this pushes u towards prop and point imo making the retri a heavy kiter. from experience tho i kno this ship can go around 2.9k without snakes due to its generous number of low slots. which is ok i guess but u have to pick ur fights 2.9k is not fast in pvp by a long shot. Also becuase ur using turrets ur vunerable to td.

5 low slots (iirc)
lots of armour hp

not really fast enough to kite
cap sucking weapons
td will hurt
neuts will hurt
