Can you reiterate for us tinfoil-hat people what exactly you're bringing to the table that would drastically be better than the already veteran players on CSM so far?

Your insinuation that someone is disqualified for CSM because they belong to this group or that group demonstrates an ignorance of what CSM stands for! *cue patriotic music* I will not stand for this! *walking out of room*

What are your own credentials on this matter? How many systems have you ransomed? How many covert operations have you headed? Are you not merely a sheep trying to give your opinion about how wolves should hunt?

Are you really suggesting that Mudstone need to cloaky camp a few systems before he is 'qualified' to suggest changes to the cloak system? How many systems have you been camped out of for days or weeks? Are you even qualified to ask this question of mudstone?

I've been cloaky camped for weeks, and trust me, I don't have 200 buddies to call for help. In my particular case, I actually don't want much changed with the cloaky camping system. Though I've never cloaky camped anyone, I wish to reserve that for a possible tool to use against my foes in the future.

I've never been cloaky camped into any station, because just as you do, I recognized that the tactic was not limited just to one side but to both. I chose instead to make use of the method myself rather than complain about it and seek to change the game.

at no point have i said that cloaky camping needs to end. i just think it needs to be a more active activity. We are all playing a game here. So why not make it engaging to both parties? I'm not a game designer. I only seek to take collective voices i resonate with and will attempt to amplify them to the best of my ability to CCP directly if afforded that opportunity.

I just think all aspects of the game should be engaging and fun. That's why i log in every day.

Would you support moving cloaked ships from local? That way no one can afk cloaky camp a system and cause people to dock up.

that's what wormholes are for. so no local is a part of known space and probably should remain.

But wouldn't it stop the "afk cloaking problem?"

it stops cloaky camping as a harassment tactic. but it does not allow for cloaking to be countered.

furthermore, as has been stated endlessly, local is unrelated to any game modules. linking them would be much harder than making a game mechanic to counter cloak.

the CSM has to realize the limitations of the game when they suggest ideas, they cant just demand the same thing WHlers have been demanding for years just so they can gank ratters with no warning.

if you want to fly in space without local, fly in WHs. if you want to gank nullbears, deal with local. its an age old argument, and using it makes you sound like a whiny little girl.

I don't remember asking you. But since you decided to chime in anyway, cloaky players have to "deal with it" when it comes to local but complaining about cloaky warfare is totally not whining.

Keep in mind I'm completely fine with local showing cloaky members in system and only suggested it as a way to combat people complaining about afk campers.

You could probably just say "yes" or "no" faster than it takes you to type all that out.

When I was a lost little lamb in nulsec, SUZY MUDSTONE was there to help me.

Every day, I saw SUZY work hard for the interests not of the CEO, or even the corp as an ideal, but for the PEOPLE in the corp. SUZY put in ass-busting to make sure every person was welcome, informed, included, heard, and helped.

Running intel. Running logistics. Recruitment. Fleets.

Hell, if SUZY was not in this game, I don't even know if any of my progress in EVE would have happened. It's from SUZY I learned what compassionate corp leadership and sharp decision making looked like.

TL;DR SUZY is good people, vote for SUZY!!

what is your take on cloaky afk camping as a tactic?

personally i view it as at best a broken mechanic. worst as harassment. this being simply because there is no counter to it..

what might you do to provide a counter to cloaky camping, what costs might it have and how would you balance it?

Here's the thing with cloaky camping. It's not gameplay. Pizza/Pasta Rage incoming. You have been warned.

Cloaky camp 0 risk. You go to the store. You go to work or cook dinner but you don't play eve. Then you sit down look at the target decide what you need to win and do it.

Needs contrast and i like the concept of some sort of cyno like beacon for the recon ship class vessels. Timer based where you can break that cloak throughout the system for as long as that beacon can be fueled just like a cyno. I think this allows the afk hunter to be hunted. It also makes the cloaky camper have to actually play the game.

seems this could be a decent balance for the mechanic.

I will say i'm not a game designer. But i would attempt to draw some of CCP's attention to this if afforded the opportunity.
