(If this is the wrong section of the forum please move)

Did CCP take on too much work or was it intended to be this slow? Either sounds silly but I honestly would like to know.

Not really looking to comment of what has or has not been promised by a DEV or CCP on the subject so far.

More aiming at current reality, the delay makes little sense to me. The player interaction in the release order is kinda cute I suppose. But the delays can't be this big, as a Gallente boy I was already sad expecting to have to wait 3 extra months (or in CCP terms, wait 45 bucks Lol)

But the slowed down release schedule that we now seem to be on really just makes it silly. Its a unique ship class with unique abilities. As a Gallente (or Caldari or by the slow release even Minnie) pilot I shouldn't be behind the curve this much.

Contest and influance or not, I'm being 'punished' for something I deciced to do before the contest (go Gallente) and had very little ability to influance the release order (whats 1 guy really gonna do on his own?) Nor do I think was it clearly stated what the contest would give, besides an advantage. Many people (including me) would have done more if they knew it was for a T3 Dessie

So as far as I know a very small contest (player base wise, I know a lot of people in EVE (In PVP, PVE, Industrial, High, Low, Null) and not one that participated in the contest. CCP feel free to correct me with numbers maybe I just happen to know all the people in EVE that didn't participate Big smile) has had by comparison way too much influance on something that effects and aweful lot of us.

This should not effect and annoy 75% (is 75% right? Not sure if each faction actually has roughly 25% of the players) of us for 6+ months which is what its starting to look like.

Anyways not to whine, looking to improve for the future, was CCP comfortable being this slow from the start or is that an unexpected by product of actually designing and making the ships? If its the 2nd option I could atleast respect it a little more.

Anyone have an idea, insight or (CCP/DEV confirmed) answer to why its going the (slow) way it is?

There's one out already.

That's faster than Ive ever seen CCP work before.

its the winter, and holiday season, or was, CCP already said the next one won't be out till the release before fan fest. Because they were short staffed last month, which is a given. And as already said, have never seen CCP get a ship out faster then they have been with the T3 dessies.

Maybe they looked at their designs and thought, four times the same modes is boring? Then they started discussing other possible modes and went through a few more design iterations. Speculating speculative speculations.

There is literally nothing keeping a Gallente, Caldari, or even a Minmatar pilot from training skills necessary to use a Confessor.

Claiming you are at a disadvantage when given the exact same toolset as everyone else is complete and utter horse excrement, and you should feel bad for even posting this entitled drivel.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Oh thats not it, if my text gave you that idea I apologise

Everything (well almost) CCP has done lately is about balance, taking away meta's from mods, tiercide, reducing resist bonus from 5 to 4% etc. I mean I am a great fan of all of those things. CCP is on role as far as I'm concerned.

But this for a reasonably long time frame creates an inbalance.

If CCP would do a DEV blog or official statement somewhere (if they haven't yet I may have missed it) in which they confirm lets say 50% or even 25% of the EVE player base participated I'd feel differently about it. But I don't think the participation level reached even 5%

5% shouldn't effect the game of 75% of the player base. Most things in life come with a threshold to effect change, a contest like this should reach atleast 25% (honestly 50%) participation for it to 'count'

Again if CCP can show that it did (which I dont think it did) then that be something. But even then it only justifies the release order not the release rate/speed.

Upto now CCP could be called balance incorporated (again I like that), how can these guys that did all that good work come up with something that can't do anything else but create inbalance?

Every race has a scan boat, every race has an interceptor, every race has a repper, every race has a well you get the idea. Just because I can train it doesn't mean its balanced. The toolset is equal if its for everyone, you're saying a training que is the only toolset you'd need.

Lets say Amarr shouldn't be able to rep anymore. Remove the Guardian and Aug, see how people like the idea of 'just train for the Oneiros...'

ps to really prove my point that I simply disagree with how its going and not that its a I don't get my 'toy' thread. I own a Confessor and max trained for it already (same will apply for Caldari and Minnie, can fly just about anything sub cap maxed tbh). Nice boat really is, but I just like Gallente (sue me right?) and I don't see why I shouldn't be able to fly one.

They just got off their Winter holiday. Give them a break for christ sake.

Other races will get their T3 Destroyer, when...I don't know...who cares.

because that event wasn't a democratic vote, it was assisting in research (and it was obvious it will be something about T3, everything that includes sleepers is)

And you had your warning upfront that the releases would be over a longer period of time

Then release the 1st one after the holidays Smile not hard to get around that issue I'd say.

And to say you don't care when they get released just means you're not intrested in the ship class. Which is fine of course, but I wouldn't post in a thread about when the next mining barge would get released because well I wouldn't care.

A statement in a thread only has value if you care about the subject.

Warnings don't make things right, warning someone that you'll kill them (IRL) before you do it doesn't make it right...

Unbalanced content, doomsdays for rookie ships be new content too. But no one would like that would they?

I would rather CCP not rush the timetable for the T3 dessies coming out. Actually, the more time it takes, hopefully the more nice, polished, and pretty the new Minmatar destroyer will be.

What I am keen on seeing, however, is the other racial skillbooks for Tactical Destroyers. It should™ be a trivial matter getting the skillbooks out so the other races can be ready once the ships are added.

How does one prove that a duck is not a duck, when it looks, sounds and acts and DNA tests exactly like one?

Try not to jump to conclusions here friend. I didn't say I don't care about the ships, I said I don't care about the release period. The ships are coming when CCP releases them.

Until then Ill just keep ripping around in my Confessor because I had Amarr Dessie at 5/5 long before the T3 dessie announcement Big smile

If it responds to the name 'Foltest' it's not a duck no matter what other tests may indicate.

so, just looked, and apparently I have trained amarr dessie L5 ... perhaps I should try one of these out...

suppose "Amarr Victor" is in order.
