Hello this is a "#notathread" production

Recently I have been studying the effects of provocation and how they can be used as a recruiting device...so I started looking at everyone's beloved highsec gank alliance that shall not be named.

after reading a number of chat logs of abuse launched at their members in my project that I had found to be ban worthy, I began to notice a trend..

The beloved gankers had perfected the art of gaining a certain reaction from well... the mentally unstable pilots to say the least, in order to provide the content for their recruiting, they then used this to gain sympathy from more moderate players.

and so I am wondering...when have you been angry enough to feed the trolls?

And have you any advice for handling the sometime highly calculated trolling that exist in this most exciting of games?

I usually shake it down to medium to low because the gas burns in my throat and I hate having foam instead of liquid in my mouth when I want to drink something. So no fizz for me. Thanks.

Being annoying is a craft, since it serves a purpose.
A craft usually mastered by the 5 to 12 yr old age group, before being abandoned as it's use leads to practitioners becoming friendless and grievously injured.
The internet has opened new ground for this craft, with limited scope for identification or reprisals.
Being part of a larger or more skilled group turns being annoying into bullying, some of which is allowed in high sec space.

Get out of hisec, it's a rookie pond that attracts and keeps the lamest kooks.

Also, to be topical, my corp would NEVER use provocation and summary incineration as a bridge building exercise to recruit new members. Never. Oh wait, that would be 'usually', not never.
It's kind of fun to have someone join with the intent of extracting revenge, only to discover that what was done to them was far more fun than what they had been doing.
