Is it safe to assume that if I produce robotics on one character I can make enough to pay for a plex for a single account?

It depends on your skills, the prices for PLEX and robotics, the POCO tax rate and maybe some other issues I can't think of right now.

Most importantly you will have to constantly restart the cycle, tear down old and erect new extractor heads, launchpads and plants to follow the depleted ressources.

But with all these things considered: Yes, it can be done and has been done.

On one character? Would be really hard. On one account? No problem.

I really want to say yes, but there are too many other factors and elements involved in the formula you will never know about - because it is in null sec.

I will go do some exploring because you asked, and will get back to you on it in-game.

I wouldn't try to do so under pressure - to pay for your account. I would learn the basic mechanics you need to know on an account that has been subbed for 6 months or so.

Do the math and keep track, and then answer your question based on that and your game play, IRL demands, etc..

Short answer is no.

Consumer Electronics, Mechanical parts and the Robotics they make are on 1 hr production times and the sec level of the space doesn't impact that in any way. You could if someone was feeding you all the parts for free, then paying you full price for the end product but that won't be happening.

If you look at the tech 0 shopping list, turn it in to 4xT1, that become 2xT2 that becomes Robotics, count the number of planets you need to make this happen, find space that has those planets.

Even a dedicated PI account with all 3 characters in the same null space, you would be devoting all your game time to PI simulator to produce balanced PI products needed by your local alliance and blues. PI is not the 'easy button' it is made out to be. People who claim it is only look at pay day and not the structure of PI and the amount of time it took to get to pay day.

I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but it's definitely a no on the original question. An Advanced Lava Facility outputs 3 Robotics per hour. With Command Center Upgrades 5 you can fit two of those with enough other stuff to keep up the pace on Consumer Electronics. If you can keep up the pace on Mechanical Parts also, you can run 24/7 and you will get 144 Robotics per day. That is for one Barren and one Lava planet. At around 60,000 ISK per unit of Robotics that makes you 8.64m ISK per day. That's nearly 260m ISK per month.

Now if you can get two of each planet you could double that. If you use alts you can multiply by the number of alts. Ideally, running 3 toons with 2x Barren and 2x Lava planets each, you could make 1.6b ISK per month. The work required to maintain that would be quite substantial and that's assuming you had access to all the right planets and they weren't bleeding resources due to other player's PI installations. That's without taking POCO taxes into account at all, which I'm sure you will have.

Keep in mind that you will pay POCO taxes to bring the Mechanical Parts up from the Barren and again to send them down to the Lava. And then once again to extract the Robotics to go sell them.

Not really safe to assume anything in Eve just because you subbed.

You'll want to diversify. One pi product and you'll tap out quickly.

I had three characters doing pi and made all P4. Once you get it all set up you can pull p1 and dump to a production planet to get p4 if you want. Not super fast but steady enough and I didn't deplete my planets.

If you have 3 characters on that one account with Command Centre Upgrades V and Consolidation V, you could probably make enough for a plex per month ,or pretty close to it. I've done it in both null and low sec.

A factory produces at the same rate on any planet, regardless of sec status. Your profitability will be a reflection of the taxes at the POCO. In my experience, nullsec alliances charge as much or more than lowsec POCO owners. It's not more profitable.

The benefit of nulls is convenience. The planets have more stuff on them. So you can set your harvesters to run for 2 weeks and you only have to check them a couple times a month, rarely have to move your harvester arms, and this case persists even when others are harvesting on the same planet. In low, in general, you'll have to reset your harvesters every week and you'll have to move around things as the planets deplete and if others are using your planet they can jack up your consumption. So lowsec takes more work and monitoring.

However, profitability is generally the same.

I'm with Aerie Evingod, I would say that in theory Yes even with semi lazy mode PI.

The easiest PI is P2 product per planet, you can produce about 300 units of P2 per planet per day. (based on my experience in WHs with a 24 hour cycle)

A very conservative value for P2 is around 5000isk (varies from around 2000 - 11000, so if you avoid the rubbish and are lucky it can be much higher)

300 x 5000 is 1.5mil per day per planet.
1.5 x 18 planets 27mil per day.
32.8 x 30 days is 810mil per month. (Just enough)

Export from the planet is every 10-14 days, export from the POCO every month

Personally I have found that it takes about 20 minutes per day with this setup, maybe less if you don't ahve to move anything that day (moving heads ect).

If you have to move systems or dock and undock a lot the time will go up.

Also unlike WHs , getting stuff out of Null is much harder.

One character no. One account Yes but you will have to have good skills and be on top of things. Also look at what the cost of importing and exporting is where you plan on setting up. As to getting material out of null some corps will buy the PI things that are needed to build fuel blocks.

Assuming you are also willing to do some ice mining you can make the PI much more saleable by converting some of that PI into fuel blocks.

But it will take up some of your time you would be doing other things in Eve ;)

Price of fuel blocks has dropped a bit lately so it's not as profitable as it once was.

You can buy some P2 items cheaper than you could make/sell them and then combine those with higher priced P2 items that you create... turn those into P3>P4 . With 2 accounts and 11 planets (10 prod/1factory), and the right combination of extractors/factories, and a cycle time of 2 days, one can make 36 P4 and 216 P3 items a day clearing well over a billion a month after costs and taxes...of course YMMV

lets look at this......

Robotics uses four P1 inputs (Reactive Metals, Precious Metals, Toxic Metals and Chiral Structures). With CCU V on a small diameter planet, it's possible to build three launchpads and 20 Advanced Industry Facilities as a factory planet. (actually 23 AIF but you don't need the last three to keep the chain going).

So, you'll have eight factories making each of the P2 goods (Mechanical Parts and Consumer Electronics) and then four factories producing Robotics at the combined rate of 12 units per hour.

12/hr = 288/day = 8640/30 days. With robotics selling at around ISK70,000/ea in Jita, that's ~ISK604,800,000/month, YMMV depending on POCO taxes and broker fees.

Be warned, if you need to haul P3s around to trade hubs, the damn things are a whopping 6m3 each.
