It is always those who have never lived the horrors of war - its real face, not the sanitized version that your average capsuleer catches the occasional glimpse of - that refer to war as a "game."

I understand that you're angry, son. The traditional powers - the four major Empires and CONCORD - are bloated with bureaucracy and the detached disinterest of aging politicians. They do not - indeed, can not speak to the interests of the common man.

But you, pilot, are not the common man. None of us are. When you signed the waivers and traded your baseliner citizenship for membership amongst the elite few that we are, you became separate. A thing apart. As such the Empires owe you neither protection nor representation.

You call for war, but have you seen real war for yourself? Not the quasi-political proxy games that so many of us spend our infinite lives playing at, but the real thing. War is ugly. War is hell. You lose people you care about - dead forever. It is one thing to will your weapons systems to fire on another vessel with a safe buffer of kilometers between you and the enemy. It is another thing entirely to look your enemy in the eye and get his blood literally on your hands, knowing that he, just like you, wanted only to survive long enough to see his loved ones one more time.

Capsuleer combat is the game here. With CONCORD endorsement comes an inviolable set of rules; true warfare ignores the rules. It banks on the hopes that your enemy is more honorable than you. If the cluster descended into real war, all of that would change.

Ships would be boarded and men would slaughter one another up close. Entire worlds would be glassed. methods of clone denial -which, I assure you, are already in place as contingency - would become just another weapon. And the battles that stand out in recent memory - those bearing names like HED-GP and B-R5RB - would fade into a quaint memory of "how things used to be."

And in the end, should you get the rebellion you so desire, the ultimate victors would not be the infomorphs, but rather those to whom we are beholden: those same bloated political entities who hold all the cards. They have the infrastructure, the populace, and the finances for a protracted all-out warfare. You do not.

And regarding that financial system: the almighty Kredit is the driving force behind all that we do. Do you really believe that, should your misguided cause somehow gain popular support, the financial institutions of the cluster would simply continue honoring your money? Of course not. And while some, mainly the furthest outcast and disenfranchised, might go for whatever alternative system may be proposed, there is absolutely no way that the billionaires and trillionaires among us would sacrifice their wealth to rally behind you.
