Missing Strip Miners

Sorry if this is a repeat, but have scoured the forums and not seen anything similar - if you have please let me know.

My shiny Hulk doesn't show the strip miner turrets (have tried tech 1 & 2), and when I am out mining I get no laser effects showing.

Have tried clearing the cache and running repair, but still no joy. Am hoping that someone may have a fix before I resort to a full re-install.

Am running a Windows Vista Intel powered setup, with a Radeon HD4800 series GPU.

Any help hugely appreciated.
