Stuttering sounds

I am running Ubuntu with Pulseaudio.

Whenever I have one or two clients of EVE open at the same time as TeamSpeak, the sounds in EVE tend to get severely bugged and the sound begins to stutter to an extent I often have to disable sound altogether. This does not automatically happen on start, but the sound degrades as I play and activate other software that uses the sound system.

I would strongly prefer to keep sounds on. since Wormhole activation sound is a fairly important effect to be able to hear.

Any suggestions for tweaks or options that could eliminate the stutter?

Hi!

I had a similar issues with the latest pulse audio using Debian Jessie (8). Altough that was all the time and all the sounds while using wine went in like 10x the speed. I don't know if this is the same issue, but I found this:

If that doesn't work, try downgrading your pulseaudio to a previous version or try some of the answers found here:

Good luck!

Thanks. EVE crashes when I start it with PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60, but having started TeamSpeak with that environment variable, EVE's sounds have been OK so far. Not sure how long this will last, but at least there is some hope.

EDIT: After a day of playing I can confirm that the real culprit is TeamSpeak and that PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 fixes the piece of ****. Satan I miss Mumble.
