First of I would like to congratulate the guy who killed the bowhead. Genius.

However. Is CONCORD really that dumb? Guy reships and can start all over. Or am I missing something?

He reshipped because he was being chased by faction police, i believe. It wasnt because of concord that he needed 8 catalysts.

You should go ahead and try your reading skillz one more time.

He ganks in cata, warps pod offgrid and boards shuttle...bringing the wratch of concord for being in a ship with GCC
Then warps back to now concord-empty-grid frieghter, boards a dropped cata, ganks till concord spawns back again. Then warps to offgrid shuttle, boards, gets concorded for being in ship with criminal cooldown. Then warps pod back to next cata, continues to gank til concord warps back to stop again... etc etc etc.... etc

Dude must be afk or logged off for this to realisticly work

Oh and ezdel locks these threads for some unkown reason. Guess ccp is debating the entire issue currently.

1st dude posted the bowhead km in general and that thread was locked by him due to "post being originated on a km posted illegally outside of c&p"

Next dude makes thread in CRIME AND PUNISHMENT like ezdel said to... "locked for duplicate thread..."

Lmao.. so guess we cant ever discuss this topic ever again and never even had the chance to, (even when posted in correct forum as per ur rulez dude)

Lol go to reddit and failheap for good topics like usual i guess.

My mistake, i thought the article said he got a suspect timer. It was apparently just conjecture.

Each time he ganked, his ship exploded that link you keep pointing to deals with when you could warp away AND NOT BLOW UP. Dude gets blown, warps to shuttle, gets blown again, warps to second cata and gets blown yet again... its actually do7ble punushment per each gank shot really.

Pot meet kettle, the key is he never warped away while still in his ship, he did lose each one to concord.

Shocked good god what are they teaching in schools these days? all of you can obviously read put your obsessions with "blowing up space pixels" to the side for just a moment and read what the ruling actually says rather than reading in to it what you wish it to say.

"If you gain a Global Criminal Countdown by committing an illegal action in high security space, it is considered an exploit to attack a target after you warp away from the grid, or warp within the same grid, where you gained that GCC; even if you later return to that grid while still affected by that GCC"

where in that quote does it say ANYTHING about ships getting blown up??? yes the initial exploit that prompted this ruling has sense been patched but that does not mean the method used here is not an exploit as well.

the part of this ruling that in fact got stepped on has NOTHING to do with HOW he did what did (nor if all his ships got blown up in the process) and every thing to do with WHAT he actually did do. which was to aggress the same target (or any target) on the same grid (or any other grid) while still flagged from the initial attack.

that 15 min timer is there for a reason ANY attempt to get around it in ANY way for ANY reason IS an "exploit" PERIOD. running around trying to find new ways to do things CCP has stated are exploits are going to be exploits as well because :logic:

PS please explain why any of you are defending this tactic in the first place?
there is a legitimate and accepted way to do this. all that is required is an actual group of players of sufficient size to provide the required dps. CODE does it and does it right ALL the time. you ganker types love to admonish other players in these forums that this is an "MMO" and to get "friends" for activities that require a group but you sure do change your tune any time this sort of mechanic applies to your favoured game play.....there is a word for doing that BTW

Maybe you should read it again in the context that ruling was done, which is that warping away with the ship you committed the crime was possible. This is not the case here, because CCP fixed the exploit you are referring to by disabling the warp drive of the ship which commits the crime. The boomerang tactic allowed to hit multiple targets before the gank ship was destroyed, which was considered an exploit. This tactic is something completely different and until CCP says otherwise it is within the rules of the game.

This tactic is well known in the ganker community for years. It is usually only useful to solo gank static targets like POS modules, it is high risk to do this on player ships, because it is so easy to interrupt the gank. I tip my hat to the guy who manages to kill ships this way, it is not an easy task.

But I am not surprised that the self entitled carebears are crying over this again. It seams all they can do is getting upset about clever stuff others do who actually enjoy the game.

"context"...lmao Roll and the space lawyering just keeps going on and on and on.........

yes CCP did in fact patch THAT exploit but doing so did NOT remove the ruling nor change what it says. just because they chose to ignore the examples you cite in the past does not prevent them from taking a harder line in this case or in those cases in the future. look at what just happened in the case of ISBoxer and command broadcasting....I mean SERIOUSLY? do you actually think you all are "special snow flakes" that are some how exempt from CCPs attempts to tighten up their enforcement policies?

as I pointed out earlier why don't you go ask globby what his current opinion on the matter is and get him to come here to defend it? hint according to what he himself has posted on the eve subredit you cant (not in game at any rate....... you did not actually think I randomly showed up here to bump this thread with unfounded conjecture did you??Lol)

the thing about "clever" and "emergent game play" is that CCP can chose at any moment and with out notice to reinterpret any aspect of the game that falls in to a "gray area" on a case by case basis and in this instance it seems they have done so.
those of you who seem obsessed with pushing the envelope and the rules of the game knowingly put your accounts at risk every time you engage in such activities.

all that having been said there is no point in going in to this matter further on these forums due to the fact that the actual out come cant be discussed here because :forum rules: have a nice dayBig smile

PS I do not see how any of my posts in this thread can be seen as crying (globby is the only one sheading tears at this point) I have simply been discussing the finer points of what has happened and why.
also as a player I have no problem with the PVP mechanics of this game and even have a certain ....admiration? for CODE and the content you all provide. the game requires "villains" and you play your part very well.
