Does anyone know the minimum graphic settings to see wormhole activations?

Does anyone know why you would ever need to run EVE on less than max settings since my toaster can run it on max settings?

Yeah me too, my PC is quite old, but having 4gb ram, 2.5 ghz, gtx 550 Ti which is not really bad for eve, but all settings at low, having 20ish fps average with 2 clients.
Getting a new PC by the end of the week.

I can't see anything on low settings with Nvidia 460Gtx

I have to raise shader quality to medium to see EOL wormholes, but I can't find which settings makes it wobble during activation,

Well it wouldn't hurt if you share your PC specs, and if they are any close to mine and you can still fly 2 or more accounts at high settings, something is not right.

um... tbh i dont recall off the top of my head (am not at home).
12gb ram, 5 year old quad core CPU, high end 5 year old gfx card. *shrug*
nothing 2-300$ couldnt buy these days.

I run 5 accounts simultaneously reasonably often for PVE and there is some lag but it's plenty playable.
the biggest factor for EVE is RAM which is dirt cheap to upgrade.

That was pretty elite 5 years ago..
Quad-core is badass also, and yeah, the biggest factor in EVE is actually the CPU not RAM. You need as much as 800-900 MB RAM tops per each client if your system is optimized, so lets say your flying 5 accounts x 800 MB each that is 4GB's of RAM. For example if your PC had 6 you would be totally fine, if you had 16GB that would not change anything.

What really helps with eve is CPU and SSD (not as much as CPU because eve is not really threaded), so if you are planning to fly 2+ accounts prepare to have multi-core processor, RAM is not that important.
I'm getting a 4670k i5 in a few days along with whole new PC, and I'm gonna push it to the limits and let you guys know the results.

As someone who HAD 6gb of ram and then doubled it to 12 to multibox EVE better 3 years ago, I'm telling you you're wrong.

Because there is no extra button to turn those horrible framedrop inducing dustclouds off.

Confirming Eve is more fun without multiboxing (i.E. no more than two toons and matching linkalt)

Meh, it is important but not as important as CPU.

Medium shaders does it all!
If you have lower than that its hard to tell wich wh is what if checking the colors. Big smile
My graphics card spinns like a washing machine these days since I dont know a few months back.
Even with the new card the fan makes alot of noise.
Would getting better cooling help it be less noisy or should i just HTFU? Smile
I got medium shaders and textures high, tried even setting nvidia control panel settings from quality to balance between performance and quality and gpu still spinns up like crazy. Running only 2 clients.
