The real question is how many people who speak a given language and also have both reliable internet access and the money to spare.

I agree EVE needs a Spanish localization if it doesn't have one.

But France has both a far greater level of internet access and to put it bluntly, more disposable income on a per person basis than much of the Spanish speaking population of South America, which is the largest part of the worldwide Spanish speaking population.

Sorry Spain, but you guys are only a little more than 10% of the worldwide Spanish speaking population, and most of the other 90% has some serious infrastructure and income issues that make it a less desirable market than the French.

But a Spanish localization should still be done.

Most French speakers are from the unpleasant parts of Africa so I'd assume Spanish's mostly American has that going for them. That and Spanish is the third most common first language and French is the 11th.

So the real question: who's Spanish? The schools of it sound like idiots to the other.

It's not necessarily how many people in the world speak it, but how many people in eve speak it. In which French is more common in Spanish.

I'd assume that a ton of Spanish speakers play but they know enough English to deal with it and aren't as unlivable about it as the French.

The biggest reason is the market.

If CCP invests, it's for money return.

French market is a big video game market.
Why ? Because one of the Major is a french society : Ubisoft.

It's the same for chinese, russian, english, japanese and german languages.
If you don't find a specific localization for a country and if this country has a big video game market, it's because this country speaks a good English : Swedish, Dutch ...

And French don't have a very good level in English.
That was the only way to catch this gold market.
Let you know that in most french popular video games magazines, if the game isn't in french language, it can be not tested.

I'm sure CCP will get around to it, if there is enough support and calls for it.

There was quite a large rally towards the French language. Maybe that holds clues, as to how you could drive the same for the Spanish one.

It did take CCP ten years for the french, so don't feel it's a slight. It's is as some have already pointed out, market driven. So make the market sound larger. Blink

Good luck.
