Hi there folks!

Im piloting an abaddon for lvl 4 miss but im having lots of problems.

Im using this fit:

Note: The MWD is so that i can get out of range asap, cause using only a 100NM wont do much of a job since the abaddon is a mother !"##"! slow boat.

If you have other fits that could work better please let me know.

I would also like to know which skills should i train and to what lvl to release the ship's full potential.

Thanks in advance for your time helping me out.

Peace! :)

An eveboard link would help. So would some information on what type of rats you are shooting.

Yes, because you use an Abaddon for lvl4s.
Try the Apoc - it's much better for L4s. (less paper dps, but you actually hit stuff with it and don't run out of cap so fast)

Im not running out of cap, my problem is getting in range to properly kill stuff and also tanking stuff

Use different crystals for different ranges. Multifreq for closer range. The red or purple ones for long range

You're going to be frustrated running an Abaddon against Guristas. Scorch has a huge EM component and Guristas are very strong against that. Short range ammo like multifrequency has a higher therm component which would help you considerably. Of course, that would require you actually get close if you insist on using pulses.

The other option would be to fit beams (although that isn't an Abaddon's strong suit either). You could try something like this:

[Abaddon, T2 beams against guristas]
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Capacitor Power Relay II
Imperial Navy Large Armor Repairer
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Imperial Navy Armor Kinetic Hardener

Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800
100MN Afterburner II
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script

Mega Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Mega Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Mega Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Mega Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Mega Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Mega Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Mega Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Mega Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L

Large Energy Discharge Elutriation II
Large Ancillary Current Router I
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

Abaddon is just not a good mission boat, you're not running out of cap because you're probably fitting an ass-ton of cap rechargers, cap rigs and possibly even cap relays.

This will mean you won't have any space left for actual damage application mods such as tracking computers and heat sinks.

Try the Apoc, you won't regret it.

I used an Abaddon for quite a while and even with max skills it's hard to get good dps out of it. I was using a cap boosted fit with damage rigs.

You can get better performance out of most of the other races ships, e.g. Typhoon, Dominix before you even think of cheap faction like rattlers and TFI.

On paper, the Abaddon has much more DPS than an Apoc... but....

You have to apply the damage on the NPCs. Without any tracking bonus, you won`t hit them very well and finally your DPS drops to a lower lever than an Apoc.
On the other side, the Apoc has a bonus for range and tracking, so you will hit much better your enemies and get a better damage projection on frig/ destroyers/ cruisers than a slow Abaddon.

I love my Abaddon, but not to run L4s :)

Abaddon was the very first BS I got in EVE it's my favourite one but unfortunately it just not very good for lvl 4's or should I say there much better BS's to do lvl 4's in.

You have a max range of 50km optimal with scorch and 17km with multifrequency.

Why do you have a sensor Booster for targeting range? the ship can target longer than you can shoot without it.

also if you where cap stable you wouldn't have an issue with tanking as there is very few rooms that your tank would be tested. (my eft shows 3min 27 sec of cap with your fit) .

To fix your range issue use a ship with a range bonus or use beams or change the sensor booster to a tracking computer.

For laser based mission ships, I would choose from this list, in this order:

Nightmare (Spendy, and you have to cross train to get the full potential, but it whups on red crosses like nobody's business)
Navy Apocolypse
Apocolypse

In terms of bang for your buck, I'd get the NAPOC. You get the same bonuses as the non-navy version, but you get an extra low slot, meaning you can fit more tank, or more damage mods (or even more tracking, if you think you need it).
You also get more drone space, so you can be more flexible there, and 50% more base armor.

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno
