This is a public service announcement from someone that has been buying Symmetry decryptors ever since they got this ridiculously cheap. It *is* self interested but contains advice that will also help you.

Do you do invention of tech 2 modules?

Do you ever spend more than 1 million ISK on an invention attempt, *including* the opportunity cost of tying up your science slot for X hours?

If so, at present prices, you will *always* achieve better results on those jobs if you throw in a dirt cheap Symmetry decryptor.

Consider the following maths, for inventing one of New Eden's more commonly used tech 2 modules, the 1600mm Reinforced Steel Armor Plate II.

Cost per attempt, actual ISK: 6 datacores (average cost about 600k total)
Cost per attempt, opportunity cost: 12 hours of science slot time on a station, less in a POS. Assuming you value your slots conservatively at 50k ISK per hour in a station or more in a POS, that's another 600k in opportunity cost.

Total cost per attempt: 1.2m, to get 4.33 runs (all invention skills 3) or 4.65 runs (all invention skills 4).

Add a Symmetry decryptor to each attempt, and your throughput increases 20% (12 runs instead of 10 on successful inventions), and you also save 1% on materials on the final build as a relevant bonus. These decryptors should never fall under 300k as long as people invent 6 datacore modules, and they are also very useful on inventing small ships.
