seriously, there are some ideas on here so bad, that unfortunately have alot of people press like, end up seeming like proposals everybody wants. why are we nay-sayers relegated to ahving to post our resposne and hoping soemone reads?

i propose TWO more buttons added, a dislike button for the bad posts, and a "WTF am i reading" button for those REALLY bad "Make it like WoW" threads.

By posting, you can show why you disagree and it can helps the OP either clarify or stat discussion. I do agree that sometimes the guy always repeats the same ****, but in those cases, he looks like a moron, not you.

I do agree that a dislike button could be added. However, like & dislike is only a preview and should'nt stop actual discussion of a topic. For example, i could dislikes the way the OP brought the subject, but viewed from another angle, i could like his idea and vice-versa.

I think the better solution, for this particular issue, would be to simply add an automatic poll to threads in this forum with 3 options: Up-Vote, Down-Vote, and "Good potential, poor implementation."

I agree, the majority needs to come from the thread itself, but having that poll right at the top would 1) make it much easier to see where people stand on something, and 2) make it much easier for the devs themselves to see it and say "huh, I guess a lot of people really do like this idea."

I propose 3 buttons: "good post", "stop posting" and "oh god what am I reading".

And therein lies the flaw in the system (and not just goons, the issue is also with people who will simply go and down vote all replies to a thread just for laughs).

There's a forum I know of which cannot be named on this forum, which has a system which has countermeasures to limit abuse like that.

Cyno's lit, bridge is up, but one pilot won't be jumping home.

Nah. This will be abused in so many ways.

Someone made a "bad" comment some time? Enter crusade mode... dislike everything about him..
Someone is from a "rival" alliance/corp/gang? Dislike everything...

This cannot end well.

It knows what you think.

I would only ever support this change if, only one of the three characters for an account were allowed to dislike in the thread. otherwise its be crazy abused. I'm already not the biggest fan of this being allowed for like already. Its more of an ego booster it seems, and i be most people like themselves hundreds of times... imagine how many people you could dislike, maybe thousands of times within an hr?

I do however like the idea of having an overall counter for the thread. instead of likeing or disliking the individual post, allow people to vote on the title itself. its all rather irrelevent though...

Disliking this thread and logging in my n alts to do the same.

Concept proven, too much potential for abuse.

Indeed many deserve it, but I'd say no. Because we are not here to allow or deny a thing but to give our reasons. Say no or say yes is not enaugh, have also to say why.

What did you say about CODE?
