Able to find trace amounts of veldspar in any roid. Random chance of +1 veldspar per cycle. 70 CPU base fitting req.

Why not just make it a mining laser which looks like a strip miner and has strip miner sound and graphical effect, and mines at T2 mining laser rate when you use it on Veldspar, but T1 rate on everything else? Then it'll have a lot of flavor:

1.) works better on Veldspar
2.) allows you to "strip mine" in a Venture
3.) Chribba can fit some to his Veldnaught

and best of all, it won't be overpowered! Except it might reduce the value of T2 miners for a while if everyone gets one for free...

Maybe it could mine Veldspar at the rate of the meta 4 mining laser but cost the T2 CPU amount. Then it's still worth using for fun without stepping on too many toes.




And just to add more flavor, it should not require turret hardpoints if you are fitting it to a barge.
