Hi Sec POS Profitability....?

Greetings All,

I am interested in expanding into setting up a POS and was considering all of my options. Moon Mining seems to be a bit difficult given profitable moon availability (please correct me if I am wrong). So I was then researching the idea of setting up a POS in Hi Sec to perform Reactions and just purchasing the materials needed....well there really does not seem to be profit in that either (again, please correct me if I am wrong).

So my question is... what else can be done in a Hi Sec POS that makes it worthwhile?

Thank you!

Unless it's changed recently you can't react in 0.4 and above (you can't anchor the reactors).

Most of the High sec PoS are setup for faster manufacturing, BPO copying/Improvement and invention.

highsec pos can also just make life easier than waiting for manufacturing or research slots in NPC stations. it's possible to make MORE money if you stick with just NPC station manufacturing slots, since there's no overhead for POS fuel and components, however, running the POS is also a big milestone for many highsec corps, and so there's part of the 'end game' feeling to having one... as 'end game' as you can get in highsec industry anyway.

there are more profitable things to do with a highsec pos than I can get to. so you need more alts or corpmates to run more slots, and haulers to move the stuff around. my approach is simple, buy parts in hubs, make those parts into things at a POS, and sell the things back at the hub. i havn't mined anything since 2009 when i started. trade characters are helpful to park in hubs and be the buyer/seller.

Google Docs is a good collaboration tool if you have a group that is interested in investigating what other profitable things you can do other than react moon gas, which I've never done.

IIRC, reactors can now be anchored in 0.4, but since you can't mine the 0.4 moons, it's kind of a moot point (i.e. just set up in 0.3 or lower).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

I have an alt in an indy corp that runs a large pos.
6 toons share the POS and do a T2 manufacturing chain.
Copying -> Invention -> Manufacturing

For what it is worth we could probably handle a BPO research arm as well(3-4 more toons) with all the ME and PE slots left open.

Hmmmm. Now I am thinking of something to do with those 60 day codes.....hmmmmm.
