Plenty of them goons in low sec if you aren't bothered with security status. Even then they tend to shoot first.

Wardeccing a forum alt's one-man corp is pretty lame.

Entertaining to see who I was at war with on the rare occasion I log in to the game, though.

No, I'm pretty much forced to agree with you. Whenever a change is presented that might change the face of nullsec in a way that Goons don't like, they'll immediately swarm the thread with an objection that is always the same, no matter what the suggestion is:

"Goons will just get around this suggestion by having more people."

It's always this. Obviously, sometimes it's not just their own members, and they promise they'll use the greater CFC as a method of bypassing restrictions, but the common refrain is that Goons will get around any restriction CCP places on the game just by being bigger - and this has, in the past, actually disuaded CCP from implementing changes that would actually be positive to the game. This is why I was overjoyed at the fact that the jump fatigue changes operated in the way that they did, and they actually worked - CFC lost territory, and I couldn't be happier. (Yeah, I'm a member of CFC, but I'm only a member of CFC because my corporation joined an alliance that's a member of CFC. I love my corp - I don't have to love being in CFC, even if I do on occasion enjoy flying with CFC fleets)

The endless wardec against GoonSwarm that they'd let anyone join in was the one good thing Star Fraction ever did.

The war ended before it even started.

Well actually, though I do not defend it, them hanging out at the trade hubs to prevent you from going there might have been the goal. So indeed a wardec might be "lame" if one approaches the concept from the perspective of "make war" but they might have been trying to take control of the market there, something that your presence or supply chain might have been in the way of.

Wardecs for that reason are perfectly legitimate in the vision of Eve. While it is said that not all PVP is players shooting each other, not all wardecs are seen to that end either.


True but we have alts in NPC corps, a little like this one :) which make such strategies a complete waist of time and ISK.



Indeed. There are many ways to get around these challenges. Many say the mechanic is broken or meaningless anyway.
