Leaving Survey

I have recently let a couple of my accounts to expire with a few more due and received an email from CCP asking me to fill out a survey about why my account has expired.

It was very disappointing as it is geared to new players and offers very to those who have played the game for a while (5 years in my case)

It was almost like they couldn't care less why somebody who has played for years is leaving.

Shame.

New players tend to leave due to frustration. Older players are constantly closing alt subs and reopening others. I have 10 accts of which I mostly have 4-6 active, for instance.

So, of course CCP is going to give the most effort to retaining newer players. The old ones are just shuffling accts active as needed. They're not going anywhere.

Is this where they lock the thread because someone discussed this in the last 10 years?

I swear these forums would put a minister to sleep with these ways.

CCP only believes you as a veteran when you hand out your stuff to others (see if he takes the hint), then biomass your characters on the account and then unsub.

If you aren't doing all 3 of those things, they just know you will be back.

They said that to me about Anarchy. Haven't logged in for six months? When I did it was for about half an hour to rattle my dinosaur bones and scare some newbies with stories of how the game was back when I started.... or something like that. I did come back to EVE but an injury forced me to stop in the first place so not of my own volition.

The point being, eventually, you take longer and longer breaks from a game then one day think, "Hey, I haven't played that game for x number of years" Shocked

Veteran burn out is common. Drifting away from a game also happens, you just hear about it far less because of how it happens.

Edit: Max log on average has progressively dropped by about 5000 this year.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.
