This is probably a know issue, but i desided to post it in case some people don't know this.

When you have aggro with someother guy, and you deside to extend the aggression timer for another 15 minutes, by shooting a wreck, a can or whatever of theirs, you MUST take a good look at the remaining aggression time. Make sure you have a few seconds remaining aggression time before attacking.

Even worse, if you plan to use drones on distant targets, take into account the time that drones need to fly to their target before they reach and shoot it. Because if by the time they reach their target the aggresion timer is over, then the drones will shoot it eitherway, and you get concorded no questions asked.

The way is see it, since the order to attack was given within the aggression time, then no matter the time drones need to reach target, they should be free to shoot. But it doesn't work this way, i have lost at least twice this way. I petitioned it, and the reply was something like "Launching the drones from bay does not reset aggression timer" !!!!!!, or something irrelevant like this. I don't mind the ships, i replaced them with easy. Just to let you know about this "feature".

Yes, this kind of feature has been several years but accidents happens only to people who try to abuse mechanics so they should know anyway what they are doing so i do not see it as big problem.

Anyway it is some kind of bug.

It makes perfect sense you were destroyed, you attacked outside of the aggression timer.

OP, it sounds like your attack took place after your aggression timer expired, in which case CONCORD would destroy you.

What is your concern?

That he didn't get the popup box, since he gave command to drones/missiles to attack wreck before timer expiration, but they hit after. But yeah, popup box is for noobs. If he knows enough to abuse/exploit mechanics loophole by extending aggro, he should know enough to go without popup. No sympathy there. Cry me a river.Roll

The way i see it... is that it's an exploit to extend the timer beyond 15 minutes, after it has already expired. Yet it's also a bug that entities (missiles, drones, whatever) are still allowed to hit the now non-aggressive target.

The "simple" fix would be to make anything that is on route to a target "miss" and/or reset the commands when the targets status changes.

Noobs, Fer DeLance is not part of your tribe of childish boyscouts, he's been around long enough. This is a PSA. It happened to me, it sucks, you move on without Q.Q

The other thing to watch out for is if you are can flipping and your target steals from the can, don't shoot till he goes red. One of my ex-corpies got himself CONCORDOKKENED by shooting the instant the can disappeared...but before the nub went red to him.

Its just part of the learning process.

This too !!! Good addition, i forgot to mention it. Sometimes it may take several MINUTES before target goes red, especially when you are NOT present to witness the "theft". Sometimes i know someone has already stolen from me, and i lock, i chace i orbit etc etc waiting for them to go red... Never shoot before they go red.

So....don't wait 14.9 minutes to refresh your timer. Also, don't use drones or missiles for that last-second refresh.

Also also, lol.

edit: Lesson learned from our incursion griefing, targets may take 30 seconds or so to go red if you're off grid when they get aggression. We solved this with a cloaked tackler on grid to hold them while the gank fleet warped in and waited for them to turn red. After a while we got lazy and just all flew the incursion ships we'd ransomed so we could just sit on grid with passive targeters.

another edit: Modules like tracking disruptors are great for resetting aggression and longer ranges than you can normally hit. I've never tested them on wrecks, but if they'll cycle on a targeted wreck they should give you that reset.
