That way it will be easier for me to tell my family and friends to get me ISK for a Christmas present.

Or...they could order them online? Do your family and friends not have credit cards?

They have a hard time with online transactions and waiting for shipping.

If they were sold at Target and Walmart they would see them and remember to get them for me.

And my birthday is coming up....

I would be so rich!

I DEMAND THAT RMT'ERS DIE. RMT ruins so many games. I hate to see a game just say "if you can't beat em, join em." at least eve does it in a way that's better than most other games though. Still pretty crappy though, but it is better seeing people support the game by buying isk rather than getting it from a 3rd party and contributing nothing. Eve would be so much better if RMT just didn't exist though.

Ohh a life without plex. I can just imagine the economy now, people actually working for their keep. The tears of all the helpless btards as their parents refuse to take out their credit cards to pay for their account(there goes 90% of goons). Eve would be such a nicer place.

Seriously, I have always wondered why CCP hasn't sold physical cards for game time at stores, I always check now and then, but so far nothing. Would love to hear a Dev weigh in on this oversight.

Probably because the stores would demand a big cut. CCP isn't a big company like Micro$oft or fakebook, and can't push retailers around.
Certainly the larger retailers would try and squeeze CCP for every last whatever a fraction of a kronor is.

I demand Jellybeans!

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

Certainly they would. Antiquated business models should die. Not only does the retailer want a cut, but the printer will want a cut, the assembler will want a cut, and everyone along the distribution chain will want a cut. All to create inefficiency and waste, burn fuel, and kill trees. Oh and pay for a new tire on the retail chain CEO's new sports car and pay a few hours salary for some rude minimum wage slave with delusions of grandeur.

Not that i'm against progress, but you're rendering thousands of people unemployed in a single thought ...
... and i'm quite sure you have no idea that even your friends may be affected by that one, single thought.

I'm sure they can spend a day retraining for another job by watching corporate videos just as easily as they did for their minimum wage retail job.

so basically sell a RL physical plex card that would be +10 $ more than a digital transaction directly to ccp at current subscription rates.

At current subscriptions, you would be literally buying a new game every month than waiting for an expansion every (6+) months from purchasing a GTC at some store. Europe it would be way more.

not worth it and besides you should best use PLEX with ingame currency.

I'm not rendering them unemployed. Technology is encouraging them to seek more efficient jobs because their current ones are obsolete. The money that used to go to them now goes to CCP to be spent on other things, or to the customer (as a discount) to be spent on other things. But since when have we been rich enough to employ people just for the sake of employing them because, you know, poor them?

I remember reading some articles from the 50s or 60s in which people were contemplating life in the not-so-distant future. One of the ideas was that with automation, heavy machinery, computers, robots, and general efficiencies, the common laborer's work week would be reduced to a few hours a day and that everyone's basic needs would be easily and inexpensively met. According to them, such advances would lead to the leisure class being expanded to include everyone, which in turn would result in a great flourishing of the arts, sciences, and entertainment.

Doesn't look like things are going to work out like that.
